Wenger admits Debuchy could leave Arsenal in January

Arsene Wenger has admitted that Mathieu Debuchy could be allowed to leave Arsenal during the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old was signed as a replacement for Bacary Sagna last season but his Gunners career has been hindered by two serious injuries and the emergence of Spain Under-21 international Hector Bellerin.

Debuchy, who has made just eight appearances in all competitions this season and none in the Premier League since the start of November, recently admitted he would consider leaving in January to enhance his chances of making France's Euro 2016 squad.

On the possibility of Debuchy leaving next month, Wenger said: "It is not impossible that he leaves. We will see."

The former Newcastle and Lille player was France's first choice right-back at the 2014 World Cup but has not represented his country since September with Sagna and Lucas Digne providing stiff competition for places in Didier Deschamps's squad.
