Winston Reid is close to signing a new deal with West Ham, Goal can reveal.
The New Zealand international is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with a switch to a Premier League rival - with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham having been mooted as potential destinations for the centre-back.
The Gunners had been considering a move for the the 26-year-old in January but eventually opted to sign Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista, while Reid rejected advances from Everton in the winter window.
And Goal understands that Reid has now decided to remain with Sam Allardyce's side having held a fresh round of talks with Hammers chiefs.
The news will be a huge boost to the east London club, who could have lost Reid for nothing at the end of the season with the defender having initially delayed over committing his future to the Hammers.
Reid joined West Ham from Danish club FC Midtjylland in 2010 and been an ever-present in the heart of their defence since his arrival, playing a key role in the club's impressive 2014-15 campaign up to now.
