Pogba extends Juventus contract

Paul Pogba has extended his contract at Juventus until 2019, the club has confirmed.

Goal exclusively revealed in June that the 21-year-old was targeted by Chelsea, with Jose Mourinho keen to bolster his midfield options even further after the acquisition of Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona earlier that month.

But Pogba has opted to extend his stay with the Serie A champions, who he joined on a free transfer from Manchester United in 2012.

"This morning we agreed the renewal of Paul Pogba, who will be tied to Juventus until 2019," Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta told shareholders at Friday's meeting.

Pogba's previous contract was set to expire in June 2016. The France international has made eight appearances this season, scoring one goal.
