PSG coach Blanc reiterates Cabaye interest

The Frenchman has previously voiced his admiration for the midfielder, alongside interest from Monaco, but says any possible swoop hinges on departures from his current squad
Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has reiterated his interest in Yohan Cabaye and has not ruled out a late move for the Newcastle midfielder.

Blanc revealed his admiration for the 27-year-old in July, while Monaco CEO Vadim Vasilyev had also hinted at a swoop for the "exciting" France international.

9/1 Newcastle are 9/1 with William Hill to be relegated this season
Magpies boss Alan Pardew has rejected talk of a possible exit for Cabaye, and Blanc acknowledged that any possible transfer to the Ligue 1 champions would hinge on departures from his own squad.

"He’s a very good player," Blanc told Le Parisien. "I haven’t changed my opinion. For the moment, he’s at Newcastle.

"I also read that Tottenham are interested in him. Newcastle, Tottenham, or Paris - I hope that he’ll still be at a big club in September."

PSG have already spent big this summer following the acquisitions of Edinson Cavani and Marquinhos, and Blanc is not desperate to further bolster his squad.

He continued: "Right now, I’d say no [PSG are not looking to buy more players] but, depending on how much we trim the squad by, it’s possible that we might take one extra player."
