The highly rated midfielder was a success during a temporary spell with Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the season, and will now hope to aid his new side's promotion push

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has joined Championship side Leeds United on a one-month loan, with a view to a permanent deal.

The player has joined the Championship outfit in an effort to aid their push for a play-off place, with the team current sitting in eighth place - just two points off sixth-placed Watford.

Neil Warnock's side have a local derby against Barnsley on Saturday, with Barkley available for selection.

Earlier this season the 19-year-old enjoyed a successful two-month spell at Sheffield Wednesday, playing 13 times and scoring four goals.

Barkley, has found top-flight appearances hard to come by this season with just two substitute appearances for the Toffees’ this term, the most recent of which during the defeat to Chelsea on December 28.
