Anzhi Makhachkala caretaker coach Roberto Carlos wants to sign Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard and would like Fabio Capello to replace him

Anzhi Makhachkala caretaker coach Roberto Carlos has revealed his interest in signing Liverpool's Steven Gerrard, Chelsea's Frank Lampard and securing England boss Fabio Capello as his successor.

The former Real Madrid and Brazil left-back has been appointed caretaker boss of the Russian club following the sacking of Gadzhi Gadzhiyev and has made securing the experience midfield duo of Lampard and Gerrard his key objective.

The Brazilian has also looked to the future of the club and aims with club’s president to attract a top coach such as England boss Capello or former Chelsea manager Luis Felipe Scolari to replace him in permanent charge of the team.

He told he told Radio Marca: "I am having dinner with the president tonight and we'll speak about signings for next season, names like Lampard, Gerrard and Pires... In terms of coaches, there are several names, such as Capello, [Guus] Hiddink, [Vanderlei] Luxemburgo, Scolari..."

Anzhi Makhachkala recently made the headlines after paying Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o a reported £18 million-a-year contract to join them, making the former Inter man the best paid footballer on the planet.
