Benfica formally unveil Eduardo, Emerson & Ezequiel Garay

The Portuguese club have added three more players to their squad as they look to get ready in time for their first official encounter of the season

Benfica have formally presented goalkeeper Eduardo and defenders Emerson and Ezequiel Garay, prior to a 1-0 friendly win over Toulouse.

The Portuguese giants left it late to beat Toulouse at the Estadio da Luz as substitute Jardel scored the winning goal two minutes from full-time.

Eduardo joins Benfica on loan after a disappointing first season at Genoa, a move that is likely to pave the way for the loan departures of Roberto and Julio Cesar.

Emerson and Garay move to Benfica for undisclosed fees, with the Brazilian left-back joining in from Lille, while the Argentina international makes the transition from Real Madrid.

Benfica were expected to unveil Joan Capdevila as well, but according to reports in Spain and Portugal, the veteran defender's new contract will only be finalised on Thursday.

The Portuguese capital club will have their first official match on 27 July, against Trabzonspor, in the Champions League third qualifying round.
