Former PSV & Netherlands goalkeeper Jan van Beveren dies

The 1978 Uefa Cup winner, remembered by his long career at PSV, passed away on Sunday
Former PSV keeper and Netherlands international Jan van Beveren has died at the age of 63 in Houston.

Van Beveren, whose career spanned over 20 years, represented Sparta Rotterdam for five years and then spent a decade at PSV, winning the Uefa Cup in 1978, before playing in the United States for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers and the Dallas Sidekicks.

After retiring from the game, Van Beveren decided to stay in the USA, and was the goalkeeping coach of the Dallas Texans Soccer Club.

The former Eindhoven-based club's custodian had 32 international caps for the Netherlands, though he never took part in any World Cup or European Football Championship finals.
