World Cup 2010: Germany starlet Mesut Ozil looking forward to 'tough' Round of 16 clash against England

Young midfield star scored a fantastic goal to lift his side past Ghana
Mesut Ozil warns England to expect a strong Germany side when the arch-rivals face-off in the World Cup Round of 16.

The 21-year-old midfielder fired Germany to a 1-0 victory over Ghana on Wednesday, scoring a left-footed screamer to defeat the African side and helping his team finish atop of Group D.

Germany’s young squad are looking forward to a classic match against their old rivals and Ozil, who is emerging as one of world football’s brightest prospects, is confident in a victory over England if the team plays like they did on Wednesday.

“Well, it’s going to be tough versus England,” Ozil told The Telegraph.

"They’re definitely stronger than Ghana but if we put our strength in the field as we did tonight, we will win that match too.”

England finished runners-up in Group C after a Landon Donovan strike in stoppage-time gave the USA a victory and first place in the group and will now turn their attention to a young, but talented German side in the Round of 16.
