Blackburn Rovers have today confirmed that Norwegian winger Morten Gamst Pedersen has extended his stay at Ewood Park by inking a new four-year deal with the club.
The 28-year-old should stay at Rovers until the summer of 2014.
"I'm delighted that Morten has signed a new four-year contract," Blackburn chairman John Williams told his club's official website.
"What appeared to be a lengthy negotiation was always carried out in a positive constructive manner with Morten making it clear that he wanted to stay.
"Sam is currently on holiday but he'll be delighted, he made this, together with finding a striker, our summer priority.
"He regards Morten as a key member of the squad and his future at Ewood Park is now secure."
Pedersen has scored 38 goals for Rovers in over 240 appearances since being signed for £1.5 million in 2004 by Graeme Souness.
