The AFC Asian Cup 2019 tickets will go on sale from 30 July. On Monday at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) general secretary Dato’ Windsor John along with tournament director of Local Organising Committee (LOC) H.E Aref Hamed Al Awani unveiled a giant replica of the ticket of the competition.
On the occasion, the AFC general secretary said, “The UAE has a proven track record of delivering world-class sporting events to the highest level and we have been impressed with the progress made by the UAE Local Organising Committee as we enter the final preparations for the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019.
“The AFC, along with the LOC are fully committed towards providing the ultimate stage to showcase the undeniable talent in Asia. I am confident that by Bringing Asia Together, our teams, players and ultimately our passionate fans will experience a tournament of a lifetime.”
24 teams are taking part in the Asian Cup this time. India, who are currently placed at the 97th position in FIFA ranking, have made it to the Asian Cup after a gap of seven years. They are placed in Group A alongside hosts UAE, Bahrain and Thailand.
India were recently crowned champions in the Intercontinental Cup hosted by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) in Mumbai back in June.
