Tottenham have an FA Cup replay against Middlesbrough next, before a short trip to Vicarage Road in the Premier League, when Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield.
There goes the full-time whistle! Liverpool extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to 16 points with a game in hand as they record yet another win. Firmino's clever touch and emphatic finish separate the two sides in London as the Reds dominated the ball away from home. Spurs had their chances, but weren't clinical enough. It finishes 1-0 to Liverpool!
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: TOTTENHAM 0-1 LIVERPOOL
90' + 3' SAVE! Son gets the ball on the right and cuts inside, with options at the back post. He thumps a left-footed effort at goal, but Alisson gets behind it and holds on with several Spurs forwards lurking! That's an important save by the Brazilian.
90' + 2' Origi does well again to make some space with neat footwork and plays it wide to Shaqiri, who crosses into Wijnaldum, but the midfielder can't make a good connection and Gazzaniga collects.
X. Shaqiri
Mohamed Salah
90' + 1' Salah comes off for Shaqiri on the right wing as Klopp makes his final change of the game.
90' SAVE! Origi produces some outstanding skill on the edge of the box, beating two or three Spurs defenders before shooting from just inside the area, but Gazzaniga gets down to deny him!
89' Lamela hits an ambitious shot from outside the box but doesn't catch it with any real conviction and it's an easy take for Alisson.
87' The game is getting stretched now as players begin to tire. There may yet be another goal in this one.
85' Despite having just 35% possession in the second half, Tottenham have had six shots to Liverpool's three.
83' MISS! WHAT A MISS!! Aurier is given too much room by Robertson and curls a wicked ball to the back post that Lo Celso meets on the slide from just a few yards out, but he somehow steers wide of the far post! How are Spurs not level?!
D. Origi
S. Mané
81' Mane is now off for Origi, who scored Liverpool's second and sealed their Champions League final win off the bench late on against these opponents last season.
79' Wijnaldum is felled on the edge of the Spurs box but no foul is given and the hosts try to break as Liverpool are caught upfield, but they can't make the most of it.
77' Liverpool are just starting to get caught playing out from the back as Spurs step up the intensity of their press.
75' MISS! WHAT A MISS! Wijnaldum is tackled in his own third and Lucas has an option left and right. He dallies on the ball too long before eventually choosing Son on the left, and the forward has to snatch at his effort, sending it over the bar!
73' Play is briefly halted as Tanganga goes down off the ball. It's not serious, however, and he can continue without treatment.
71' Aurier has dropped to right-back, with Tanganga switching to left-back as a result of the changes.
G. Lo Celso
C. Eriksen
69' Eriksen is also off for Lo Celso in midfield. The Dane has had a very quiet game.
E. Lamela
D. Rose
69' Rose is replaced by Lamela as Mourinho makes a positive double-change.
67' No retrospective action for Robertson, despite the fact he caught Tanganga on the shin with his studs. He's lucky to have gotten away with that.
65' SAVE! Robertson clatters into Tanganga with his studs raised after taking a poor touch and the pair stay down. Liverpool play on, however, and Alexander-Arnold crosses into Mane, whose downward header is saved by Gazzaniga!
63' Mane skips past Tanganga with ease before finding Robertson to his left, but the full-back's cross is blocked away!
A. Lallana
A. Oxlade-Chamberlain
61' Oxlade-Chamberlain comes off for Lallana in midfield as Klopp makes his first change of the game.
60' DEFLECTED WIDE! Eriksen sprays the ball to Son on the left and he cuts inside Alexander-Arnold, but Oxlade-Chamberlain is covering and blocks the shot, sending it just wide of the far post!
58' SAVE! Liverpool sweep forward on the break and Salah lays the ball off for Firmino to strike first-time, but Gazzaniga is in the right place to take the curling effort in!
56' SAVE! Alli drives into the box but is halted by a sliding challenge from Van Dijk. The ball breaks to Aurier, who hits a fierce, swerving drive, but Alisson does superbly to hold on to the shot!
54' Spurs still struggling to get their foot on the ball as Liverpool continue to dominate possession despite being the away side.
52' Tottenham completed just 98 passes in the first half against Liverpool, only against Arsenal in April 2010 (68) have Spurs completed fewer in the opening 45 minutes of a home Premier League game since Opta started recording this data (2003-04). The pattern has not changed in the second half, with the Reds working the ball around with ease.
50' WIDE! Liverpool surge forward on the break through Salah on the right. He gets into the box but picks the wrong option, finding Mane instead of Firmino. The ball is worked back to Alexander-Arnold, but the right-back fires wide!
48' Tottenham have conceded 20 goals in their 13 games under Jose Mourinho in all competitions, the quickest any of his sides have shipped 20 goals.
46' WIDE! Aurier finds Lucas behind Henderson and the midfielder barges into the Brazilian, putting him off-balance as he slices a shot wide!
46' We're back under way for the second half!
Klopp may be feeling confident despite Tottenham's strong start to the game, with his side enjoying over 73% of the ball so far in London. Mourinho is clearly looking to hit the Reds on the break, but he may have to alter that strategy now that his team are behind.
There goes the half-time whistle! League leaders Liverpool head into the break with a slender advantage after Firmino slammed a shot home, while Oxlade-Chamberlain hit the post early on as well as seeing an unmarked Van Dijk header saved. Spurs started brightly and created chances of their own, but were unable to really test Alisson. It's 1-0 to Liverpool at half-time!
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: TOTTENHAM 0-1 LIVERPOOL
45' + 2' Oxlade-Chamberlain hits a ferocious, dipping effort from distance on the left but it flies over the bar. That should be that for the first half.
45' WIDE! Aurier forces a corner with a cross from the right and the subsequent delivery is met by Lucas at the near post, but he heads powerfully over the bar!
43' Alli dallies in possession and loses the ball in the Spurs third, allowing Salah to break at goal. Sanchez slips over, gifting the Egyptian a shooting angle, but he fires just wide of the near post!
41' Firmino has now scored five goals in his last six games for Liverpool in all competitions, as many as in his previous 30 appearances for the Reds, while Salah has been involved in eight goals in last 10 starts against Spurs in all competitions (seven goals, one assist).
A. Oxlade-Chamberlain
Yellow Card
39' Oxlade-Chamberlain now goes into the book for a poor challenge on Lucas.
38' VAR checks for a possible handball by Henderson in the build-up, but nothing untoward is seen and the goal is allowed to stand!
Mohamed Salah
Assist
37' Salah kept his composure in the box and did well with his back to goal, holding off a defender and turning before feeding Firmino in a dangerous position.
Roberto Firmino
Goal
37' GOAL!!! LIVERPOOL TAKE THE LEAD!! Henderson heads a throw-in to Salah, who turns and finds Firmino to his left. The Brazilian feints and sends Tanganga the wrong way before thumping an emphatic left-footed strike into the far corner! It's 1-0 to Liverpool!
35' OVER! Robertson lofts a cross to Mane, who finds himself unmarked in the middle and volleys at goal. The ball is at an awkward height, however, and the forward can only strike into the ground and over the top!
33' Salah produces a sublime turn in the box to beat Winks and he dances inside, looking for a shooting angle, but he can't find an opening.
31' Tanganga does well to win the ball off Mane and then draws a foul from the forward as he charges upfield. The young defender has stayed down, however, with what looks like a head injury as Mane landed on him. It doesn't appear to be serious, though, and he should be okay to continue.
29' Lucas chases a long ball over the top and feels he has been impeded by Van Dijk as Alisson sprints a fair distance out of his box to head clear, before being forced to hack away again after another risky back-pass.
27' Liverpool have won it back and are just passing it around safely, taking the sting out of Spurs' momentum and setting themselves.
25' Spurs are enjoying a positive spell of possession, despite failing to make the most of their free-kick or the subsequent corner, and are putting Liverpool under some pressure.
J. Gomez
Yellow Card
23' Gomez sprints back to try and get to the ball ahead of Son, who is storming away to counter, but the defender gets there a little late and hacks the Spurs forward down, earning himself a yellow card.
22' SAVE!! WHAT A SAVE! A corner isn't dealt with by Spurs and Henderson dinks a delightful ball towards the back stick where three Liverpool players are unmarked! Van Dijk rises highest to head at goal, but Gazzaniga keeps it out!
21' A cheap giveaway allows Spurs to break forward in numbers and Eriksen gets to the edge of the box before shooting, but his left-footed strike is tame and Alisson can simply collect.
20' Liverpool faced three shots in the opening 15 minutes of this game, only against Norwich have they faced more in the first 15 minutes of Premier League game this season (four).
18' BLOCK! Mane hits the byline and lifts a cross into the box for Salah. It's headed half-clear and Firmino picks it up on the edge of the area, but opts to shoot rather than lay it off for Oxlade-Chamberlain and his effort is charged down.
17' Alexander-Arnold plays a risky back-pass that is very nearly intercepted by Son, but Alisson is off his line quickly to hack clear and almost springs a counter-attack, but Salah is eased off the ball.
15' Spurs are nearly caught out as Aurier strays from his position and ends up in midfield, but Liverpool can't quite capitalise and the Ivorian can get back.
13' OVER! Alli controls well from a long ball forward and holds onto possession in the box under pressure, but he then blazes his effort over the bar!
11' Spurs give the ball away sloppily several times as they try to play their out of their own half and Liverpool look to take advantage, working it wide to Robertson on the left, but his cross is overhit.
9' Liverpool have settled into the contest now and Salah looks for the run of Mane into the box behind the defence, but Gazzaniga is there to collect the pass.
7' WIDE AGAIN! Son wins the ball high up the field and cuts across the edge of the box from left to right before curling a shot just wide of the far post! Spurs have started this one on the front foot.
5' WIDE! Lucas darts towards the edge of the box and opts to shoot rather than playing Son in, thumping an effort wide of the near post.
4' It looks like Tottenham are actually playing a back four rather than the three-man defence that was initially expected. Tanganga is out at right-back with Aurier ahead of him on the flank, while Son is on the left and Lucas is up front on his own.
2' WHAT A BLOCK! Tanganga is involved right away as Liverpool catch Spurs out with a ball over the top to Firmino. He cuts inside cleverly before curling a low shot towards the bottom corner, but Tanganga blocks it well! Oxlade-Chamberlain then hits the post with the follow-up, but Gazzaniga claims after it comes off the Spurs youngster!
1' Liverpool get the game under way!
