Commentary

That's all for now, though - goodbye!
The result means that Sheffield United leap ahead of Wolves and into sixth place as their hunt for European qualification gathers momentum. Chelsea, meanwhile, remain in third, but Leicester City and Manchester United can now jump past them if they win their respective games in hand.
Sheffield United claim a thoroughly deserved 3-0 victory after a brilliantly disciplined performance against Chelsea. The hosts entered this one with a clear gameplan: to sit back and frustrate Chelsea, before quickly hitting them on the break with a barrage of crosses. It was an approach that quickly paid off as Chelsea failed to clear Baldock's cross, allowing McGoldrick to stab home from close range. From there, Chelsea enjoyed plenty of possession but struggled to make any inroads. The hosts doubled their lead in the first half when McBurnie thumped a header past Kepa at the near post, before they made it three deep in the second half when a Mousset cross found its way to McGoldrick again. Chelsea continued to pour forward, but never looked like finding a way back into the game and Sheffield Utd claimed a valuable three points.
90' + 4' FULL TIME: Sheffield United 3-0 Chelsea
90' + 2' Sheffield Utd waste another chance to add to their lead! Baldock darts inside from the right flank and encounters little resistance on his way to the edge of the box, where he lays it off to Osborn who plays a throughball to Stevens before the defender blasts a fierce shot well over the bar from a tight angle!
90' + 1' Three minutes of stoppage time are added.
89' Jorginho feeds Abraham deep inside the box, where the striker attempts to swivel past Jagielka, but the defender stays with him and manages to block the resulting shot away from danger.
87' The away side push forward again and Azpilicueta does well to create space for a cross, but the delivery lacks pace and Abraham nods it slowly into the grateful arms of Henderson.
85' Chelsea are continuing to aggressively chase a goal and it's presenting Sheffield Utd with plenty of opportunities to add to their already handsome lead.
83' Mousset almost makes it four! McGoldrick presses brilliantly and tackles Rudiger on the halfway line, allowing him to slip a pass through to Mousset who skips past Zouma before taking a clean path through to goal and dinking it over the onrushing Kepa and agonisingly wide of the post!
81' Hudson-Odoi bursts into space before clipping in an early cross that Giroud can only head tamely at Henderson.
79' Well, this has been a superb, disciplined performance from Sheffield Utd and that McGoldrick strike should secure all three points! Once again, Chelsea were labouring to break down their deep defence and the hosts punished them clinically on the counter-attack!
R. Loftus-Cheek
R. Barkley
Chelsea
78' Chelsea throw on Loftus-Cheek for Barkley in response to the third goal.

77' SHEFFIELD UNITED MAKE IT THREE! 3-0! The hosts find an opportunity to counter-attack as Mousset races in behind the Chelsea backline, before cutting it back into the six-yard box, where Rudiger can only clear it straight to McGoldrick, who pounces to fire in from close range and grab his second of the day!
C. Hudson-Odoi
R. James
Chelsea
75' Chelsea switch to a more attacking shape as the defender James is replaced by winger, Hudson-Odoi.
75' Abraham almost pulls one back for Chelsea! Barkley swings in a devious corner that's glanced on towards Abraham at the back post, where he stretches desperately to divert a lunging volley just over the bar from a tight angle! The away side are beginning to run out of time to get back into this game now.
73' Azpilicueta attempts a speculative effort from 25 yards that flicks off Jagielka and away for a corner.
71' Sheffield United almost get a third! Stevens gallops forward down the left again and he gets to the byline where he fizzes a cross to the front post and into the path of Mousset, who attempts a deft flick from close range that Zouma blocks brilliantly!
69' The game is paused for a brief drinks break.
68' Giroud wastes a chance for Chelsea! Rudiger angles a brilliant diagonal throughball over the top of the Sheffield Utd defence to Giroud on the edge of the area, who elects to fire a first-time volley that skews well wide, when he would have been better served by taking a touch!
P. Jagielka
C. Basham
Sheffield United
68' Basham departs after a strong display at the back for the hosts with Jagielka taking his place.
O. Giroud
C. Pulisic
Chelsea
66' Pulisic makes way for Giroud after a muted display - especially compared to his fine form in recent weeks.
66' Chelsea get a rare opportunity to counter-attack and Barkley uses it to drive at the Sheffield Utd defence before slipping a pass to Pulisic who has a shot blocked brilliantly by O'Connell 18 yards from goal.
65' Lundstram quickly makes an impact by pouncing on a loose ball on the edge of the area before attempting a threaded pass to Stevens, but Rudiger steps in to expertly intercept it and clear.
L. Mousset
O. McBurnie
Sheffield United
63' McBurnie is replaced by Mousset up top after a brilliant, tireless display that was capped off by a booming header for the hosts' second goal.
J. Lundstram
S. Berge
Sheffield United
63' Berge makes way for Lundstram as Sheffield Utd search for more energy to consolidate their midfield.
61' Berge clumsily barges Barkley over on the edge of the area, presenting the away side with a promising opportunity for a shot. Barkley, himself, steps up to take, but he drives the free-kick straight into the wall and the hosts clear again.
59' Chelsea have had 76% possession so far today, but this has translated into just two shots inside the box compared to Sheffield Utd's five. This just illustrates how comfortable the hosts have been to drop off and allow Chelsea to control the game in harmless areas, before quickly and directly moving the ball forwards themselves.
57' Alonso races onto a clever throughball from Pulisic and drills in a low cross from the byline, but O'Connell anticipates it and hacks it away before Abraham can prod it towards goal.
55' Baldock clips in an inviting cross towards McBurnie, who takes it under control in the six-yard box, but he can't quite create space to shoot and eventually the Chelsea defence rallies to clear it away.
54' Norwood whips in a corner for the hosts, but it doesn't beat the first man and Zouma heads it away at the near post.
52' The hosts are continuing their defensive plan from the first half. They're sitting deep inside their own half, without pressing the Chelsea backline at all, in an attempt to suffocate the away side of any space to exploit.
50' Willian and James combine with a neat interchange near the byline, before the latter curls in a deep cross to the back post where Alonso makes a late run before nodding a header comfortably over the bar from eight yards.
48' Sheffield Utd start the second 45 with similar intensity to the first as Basham drives adventurously into the Chelsea box, before a firm Rudiger challenge forces the defender away from goal.
46' Chelsea get the second period underway.
Marcos Alonso
M. Mount
Chelsea
46' Mount is replaced by Alonso as Chelsea attempt to refresh their attack in this second half.
A. Rüdiger
A. Christensen
Chelsea
46' Christensen is replaced by Rudiger after picking up an injury in the first half.
Chelsea will find it even more difficult to get back into this one against a deep, carefully organised Sheffield Utd defence. The hosts have been content to drop back out of possession to restrict a Chelsea attack that operates most fluently when they have space to run into. Manager, Frank Lampard, will need to quickly work out a way to penetrate this backline if his side are to mount a comeback today.
Sheffield United take a commanding 2-0 lead into the break after an excellent first half against Chelsea. The hosts started in determined fashion and quickly revealed their intent to flood the Chelsea box with crosses. And it was an approach that quickly paid off, as Kepa palmed McBurnie's volley straight into the path of McGoldrick who tapped it into an empty net. The hosts then quickly doubled their advantage when Stevens whipped in a fizzing cross that McBurnie powered beyond Kepa at the near post. Chelsea, in return, offered little and they'll be facing an extremely difficult task to get anything from this game now.
45' + 3' HALF TIME: Sheffield United 2-0 Chelsea
45' + 2' James chips in a dangerous cross towards Pulisic at the back post that Basham does well to glance away for a corner that comes to nothing.
45' + 1' Two minutes of stoppage time are added.
44' James lashes a vicious shot from 25 yards that Henderson safely palms away from any onrushing Chelsea attacker.
43' Sheffield Utd quickly move forward on the counter-attack after McBurnie holds it up well, but Stevens' pass is cut out by Zouma and Chelsea rebuild from the back again.
41' Chelsea have looked disjointed following the second goal, and another move breaks down as Mount overhits a pass towards Pulisic and it drifts away for a throw-in to the hosts.
39' Pulisic tries to revive his side by dinking a deft cross towards the back post, but Abraham can't quite stretch to reach it and the hosts clear again.
37' Abraham attempts to scurry past Egan on the break, but the defender manages to hold him off before clearing it upfield.
35' Well, this has been a fantastic half from Sheffield United so far! They've restricted Chelsea's attack with their deep defence and then in possession they've peppered their box with accurate pressurising crosses - they're well worth their two-goal lead currently!
E. Stevens
Assist
Sheffield United
33' The hosts have continually targeted Chelsea in the air, and after Baldock played a major part in the opening goal from the right, Stevens makes an impact from the left with a superb, quick cross that left McBurnie with a simple finish!
O. McBurnie
Goal
Sheffield United
33' SHEFFIELD UNITED GET A SECOND! 2-0! The hosts get their reward for another fine cross as Stevens rushes forward on the overlap, before whipping in a brilliant delivery to the near post, where McBurnie is on hand to thump a header past a motionless Kepa!
32' Norwood attempts a simple header back to O'Connell but he overpowers it and - for a moment - it looks as though Willian might latch onto it, but the defender recovers and backtracks to clear.
30' Another Chelsea move ends limply with a Barkley cross that Basham hooks comfortably away from harm.
28' Out of possession, the hosts are dropping into a notably deep and structured shape to try and restrict this goal-hungry Chelsea side.
26' Chelsea search intently for an equaliser with a long spell of possession in the Sheffield Utd half, but they can't find an opening and McBurnie manages to clear.
24' The match is paused for a brief drinks break.
22' That effort was McGoldrick's first Premier League goal of the season after 25 appearances! The striker will be delighted to have opened his account and especially pleased that it arrived at such a crucial moment.
20' The hosts will be thrilled with this start! They've launched crosses into the box at every opportunity in the opening 20 minutes and they get their reward as Baldock's delivery is forced in, after Kepa had made a strong save from McBurnie's volley.
D. McGoldrick
Goal
Sheffield United
18' SHEFFIELD UNITED TAKE THE LEAD! 1-0! Chelsea repeatedly fail to clear it away from their box, allowing Baldock to clip in a precise cross towards McBurnie at the back post, who powers a volley at goal that Kepa can only push into the path of McGoldrick, who gleefully taps it in from close range!
16' The away side methodically move forward again after a neat combination between Barkley and Mount, before Willian takes over on the right-wing where he slices a cross away for a goal kick. Nevertheless, Chelsea will be pleased that they're beginning to control the pace of the game now.
14' Chelsea quickly spread play out towards Pulisic on the left flank and he beats Baldock before McGoldrick energetically tracks back to tackle him just inside the box. The hosts will need to replicate that energy throughout the game to hold off Chelsea today.
12' Christensen is down after an awkward fall under little pressure, but after a brief pause for treatment, it looks as though he'll be able to continue.
10' Both sides have started brightly so far, in an open first 10 minutes. The hosts have enjoyed plenty of possession and they've looked to put crosses into the box at every opportunity, but Chelsea have looked threatening when they've been allowed to counter-attack.
8' Pulisic goes close for Chelsea! James finds a pocket of space on the right flank and he proceeds to swing in an inviting cross that drifts to the back post where Pulisic dives in to nod a header from close range a few yards over the bar!
7' The hosts force another corner and Chelsea fail to clear their lines before Osborn relieves the pressure by blasting a wild shot over from 20 yards,
6' The hosts have been tight and well organised defensively this season and they owe a lot of their success to this. Today, however, will be a huge test for their suffocating backline: they face a Chelsea attack that has scored at least twice in each of their last eight Premier League games!
4' Barkley drives into the Sheffield Utd half and fires a tepid shot from 25 yards that trickles safely into Henderson's grasp.
G. Baldock
Yellow Card
Sheffield United
3' Yellow Card George Baldock
2' The hosts immediately pump it forwards from kick-off and Stevens latches onto a flick-on from McBurnie before having a cross deflected behind for a corner. However, Kepa skilfully punches the delivery away from harm and Chelsea clear.
1' Sheffield United get the first half underway.
