Benzema put Real Madrid in front within the first two minutes when he tucked home Bale’s cross, while Carvajal also went close twice for the hosts soon later. Hazard then doubled their advantage on the brink of half-time by lobbing the ball over Silva following Valverde’s through ball. Modric scored the third goal in the second half with an outstanding strike from range, before Granada created a route back into the match via Machis’ spot-kick. Puertas’ tap-in soon after then injected real belief into Granada’s game, but they failed to find a third and James then added a fourth for Real Madrid at the death.
