Madrid are now four points clear of Barcelona in second with only five matches left to play. This win also means they are now on a six-match winning run which Zidane will want to continue next time out against Athletic Bilbao. Getafe lose their first game since the restart and stay in sixth after Villarreal's win yesterday. Bordalas will be hoping they can get back to winning way against Osasuna at the weekend.
Ramos' penalty seals a 1-0 win for Real Madrid over Getafe. There wasn't much between the sides in the first half, with both Courtois and Soria making great saves to keep the sides level. Madrid steadily improved in the second half and eventually won a penalty when Carvajal was brought down by Olivera. Ramos stepped up to take it and coolly slotted the ball into the bottom-right corner.

90' + 4' Madrid are still getting a lot of joy down the right wing and Valverde drills a low cross into the box. Asensio has made the run through the middle, but Dakonam is in the right place to intercept it and set Getafe on the counter-attack.

59' CLOSE! Getafe win the ball back following Madrid's corner and catch them out on the counter-attack. Mata picks up the ball on the edge of the box and goes for the chip. He's beaten Courtois but there's not enough dip to take it under the crossbar as it lands on the roof of the net.
58' GOOD CHANCE! It's a series of quick passes which opens up the Getafe defence as Isco touches it into Modric's path. He hits the shot first time and drills it towards the target, but a deflection off Dakonam takes it wide.
56' It's patient play from Madrid at the moment as they keep Getafe pinned back in their own half and try to break down the away side. Isco ends up playing another hopeful pass into Benzema in the middle though and once again, Soria comes off his line to collect it.
54' Mendy is being closed down quickly by Nyom and he's forced into playing a hopeful pass upfield towards Benzema. The Frenchman is chasing it down but Soria is quickly off his line to clear it.

Bordalas will be pleased with how his side started the game as they caused Madrid a lot of problems early on, but started to drift off nearer to half-time. He'll be hoping they can make another bright start in the second half. Madrid grew into the game and created some brilliant chances. They need to try and find a way to get Benzema involved more though as he struggled to get on the ball a lot in the first half.
It's goalless between Real Madrid and Getafe at the break. Both sides have had good chances to score, with the goalkeepers making brilliant saves to keep it level. Etxeita came close for Getafe when his close-range effort was stopped by Courtois at his near post, while Soria kept out both Vinicius and Isco with great reaction saves at the other end.

45' + 3' Madrid are committing a lot of players forward as they try to find the opening goal just before half-time. Modric swings a cross in from the right and he's looking for Ramos in the middle, but a last-ditch challenge from Etxeita stops him from getting to the ball.
45' + 1' Dakonam was caught on the back of the head by Casemiro when they both went for the ball and the medical team have come across to give him some treatment. He's back to his feet quickly though and will be able to carry on.
44' Etxeita clears Mendy's cross but Casemiro does well to win it back and keep Getafe under pressure. He picks out Vinicius and he lays it off to Benzema on the left of the box. He tries to curl his shot in at the far post, but his effort is just wide.
42' Soria's goal-kick is cut out by Carvajal and he gets his head up and switches play out to Vinicius with a brilliant pass. He tries to cut inside to get around Suarez and goes to ground, but the referee doesn't give him the free-kick he's asking for.
40' It's Getafe that are struggling to get out of their own half now as Mendy makes another good run down the left. He's brought down by Suarez but Madrid can't take advantage of this free-kick either as Dakonam clears Kroos' cross.
38' Casemiro is brought down by Olivera right on the edge of the box and the referee awards a free-kick to Madrid. VAR is having a look at this one to see if the foul took place in the box or not, but the onfield decision stands and nothing comes of it for the home side.
36' GREAT SAVE! Ramos swings a cross into the box from the right and picks out Isco at the far post. He takes the shot first time on the volley and Soria gets himself behind the shot and pushes it away from goal.
35' Mendy takes a heavy touch and loses the ball to Olivera. He touches it into Arambarri's path, but three Madrid defenders crowd around him in the box and he can't keep hold of it.

29' Kroos chips a cross into the box following a corner and Ramos pulls away from his defender in the middle to meet it. It's a good header from the captain, but Etxeita is in the right place to block the shot.

25' Madrid are keeping hold of the ball well at the moment and patiently playing out from the back. They're looking more confident after that Vinicius chance, but Getafe are still closing them down quickly and making it difficult for the home side.
23' GREAT SAVE! It's Madrid's first attack since the opening minutes and they almost break the deadlock. Mendy drills a low cross into the box. Vinicius stretches for it and gets his shot on target and Soria gets across his line quickly to push it away from the bottom-right corner.
21' Benzema has dropped deep to try and get on the ball since Madrid are being penned back in their own half. He's chasing Cucurella's run down the left and he does well to intercept the cross, but gives away a corner.
19' Courtois gets the ball off Carvajal and although he's not under any pressure, he tries to clear his lines quickly but puts the ball straight out of play. Getafe take the throw-in and it's a good cross into the box by Timor, but Varane is in the middle to stop it getting to Mata.
17' Madrid are struggling to get out of their own half at the moment due to how high Getafe are pressing them. Benzema wants too long on the ball and Cucurella nicks the ball off him, but the home side get away with one as the referee awards them a free-kick.

14' It's clever play from Getafe, this time down the right as Olivera closes down Isco and wins the ball back in midfield. He plays a one-two with Cucurella, but Carvajal recovers just in time to stop the cross from going into the box.
12' Getafe are putting Madrid under pressure again here as Suarez swings another good cross in from the right. Arambarri touches it onto Mata who has time to take a touch before driving his low shot towards the far post, but Courtois gets down well and holds onto it,

9' GREAT SAVE! Nyom swings a deep cross into the box from the right and Maksimovic tries to turn it on target, but his glancing header runs through to Etxeita. It hits the defender and forces Courtois to tip it past his near post.
7' Getafe are trying to catch out Madrid by playing long passes over the top each time they win the ball back. Dakonam gets his head up and spots Mata's run through the middle, but Ramos reads it well and intercepts it.
5' Nyom makes a good run down the right and Mendy recovers in time to block the cross and put it out of play. Arambarri swings the corner into the box and picks out Olivera in the middle, but he can't get enough power on the header to trouble Courtois.
3' Benzema smartly turns away from Arambarri just outside the box and then curls his shot around Dakonam on the volley. It's at a comfortable height for Soria though and he holds onto it at his far post.

After Barcelona's draw with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, Madrid have the chance to extend their lead at the top of LaLiga to four points. They've won all five of their games since the league restarted, keeping a clean sheet in three of those. They face a Getafe side chasing European football who are unbeaten in their last four matches (W1 D3), getting their first win since the restart last time out in a 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad.
