Despite neither side getting on the scoresheet in their opening World Cup matches, our tipster expects an end-to-end affair in Grenoble on Wednesday

Nigeria and South Korea will look for their first points of the Women's World Cup when they meet in Grenoble.

Deok-Yeo Yoon's side were thumped 4-0 by France in the tournament opener while the Super Falcons didn't fare much better, losing 3-0 to Norway.

Latest odds

South Korea are bet365's 10/11 (1.91) favourites to secure three points. Ranked 14th in the world they are expected to have an advantage over a Nigeria side who sit 24 places further down the standings.

The Africa Women's Cup of Nations holders are 3/1 (4.0) underdogs while a draw is 12/5 (3.40) with the online bookmaker.

Team News

Defender Faith Michael was stretchered off in the second half of Nigeria's previous game and is unlikely to feature.

Defeats on matchday one, even by such wide margins, aren't necessarily the end for either teams' hopes of progression to the knockout stages. With four third-place teams joining the top two finishers in each group, this game will be the one both sides circled as their leading chance of a victory.

South Korea looked overawed in the early stages against France on Friday night, but they are capable of better. Yoon's side scored in five of their six matches prior to the tournament including clashes with Australia, New Zealand and Iceland.

Nigeria's defensive display against Norway left a lot to be desired. Basic mistakes in the backline, especially from goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi, exposed their frailties in Reims.

Going forward though, Asisat Oshoala looked lively for the Super Falcons and the 24-year-old's direct running style should cause the Koreans some problems.

Given the need for these teams to force a positive result ahead of matchday three, both teams to score could be a potential option at 8/11 (1.73).

The quality of defending on show though, particularly from Nigeria, makes over 2.5 goals a better option at 17/20 (1.85) with bet365.

Those seeking a bigger price are advised to consider the 3/1 (4.0) on a South Korean win with both teams to score.
