Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary. Until next time, goodbye.
Belarus will look back at this game with regret as they made mistakes at crucial moments in the match, none more so than Mikhail Sivakov's which allowed Netherlands to regain their two-goal advantage. From that point the home side were in complete control to see out the win.
Netherlands put in a strong second-half performance to clinch their first win of qualifying. Danny Blind would have been concerned when Alexei Rios brought Belarus back into the match after the break, but goals from Davy Klaassen and Vincent Janssen completed the win following Quincy Promes' brace in the first half.
FULL-TIME: NETHERLANDS 4-1 BELARUS
The referee ends the contest.
There will be two minutes of added time.
Promes searches for his hat-trick, but his strike is deflected straight into the hands of Gorbunov by Bordachev.
Karsdorp continues to show energy down the flank and he lifts a cross for Dost to attack, but Gorbunov races off his line to claim ahead of the striker.
Space opens up for Blind on the left and he attempts to drive the ball across the face of goal, only to scuff his effort well past the post.
B. Dost
V. Janssen
Netherlands
Janssen has been impressive this evening and he makes way for Dost for the final stages of the contest.
OVER! Propper lifts the ball into the box from a corner and Van Dijk rises highest in the area, but directs his effort over the bar.
Palitsevich gets a foot in just at the right moment to prevent Janssen turning inside the box. Palitsevich has fared well compared to his partner in the centre of defence.
J. Clasie
K. Strootman
Netherlands
Clasie replaces Strootman for the final 11 minutes.
Lovely interplay between Wijnaldum and Klaassen sees the former release the run of Janssen. The striker attempts to slide the ball back across the face of goal for the Liverpool man to convert, but it is cut out at the last second by Sivakov.
CHANCE! The corner from the right flank is cleared to the edge of the box, but Strootman catches it flush on the volley, only to see his effort creep inches past the post.
Promes tries to find space to strike for his hat-trick, but Sivakov crowds out the winger as he shoots at goal, sending the ball out for a corner.
OFF THE POST! Wijnaldum comes within inches of notching his side's fifth goal with a curling strike from the edge of the box. Only the post denies him from hitting the back of the net, and although he gathers the rebound his second strike is well saved by Gorbunov.
M. Volodko
M. Gordeychuk
Belarus
Gordeychuk is replaced by Volodko for the final 16 minutes.
There is no energy from Belarus, summed up by the lack of support received by Gordeychuk on a forward burst, which sees him lose possession.
The pace has been taken out of the contest by the fourth goal. Netherlands seem content to sit back and knock the ball around, which is pulling the visitors out of shape.
S. Kislyak
S. Krivets
Belarus
Krivets makes way for Kislyak for the visitors.
CHANCE! The home side cut Belarus open down the left and the visitors just manage to clear the ball at the near post. Propper latches on to the ball on the edge of the box, but tries to bend his strike into the net, only to miss the target completely.
V. Janssen
Goal
Netherlands
GOAL!!!!! Janssen notches his first goal of the evening to surely secure the win for Netherlands. It's a great finish from the striker as he runs down the left inside channel before hammering the ball into the top corner with pinpoint accuracy. A super goal from the Tottenham man.
Netherlands' third goal has taken the spirit out of Belarus. They were well in the game at that point, but Sivakov's second error of the match has turned the momentum.
SHOT! Janssen collects on the edge of the box again and twists and turns to create space to shoot. On this occasion he fails to generate enough power on his strike to trouble Gorbunov, who saves with ease.
Promes drives at the Belarus defence and he plays the ball to Janssen on the edge of the box. He strikes with power, but Palitsevich makes the block to prevent his effort reaching the target.
A. Rios
Yellow Card
Belarus
Rios goes into the book for catching Janssen late.
D. Klaassen
Goal
Netherlands
GOAL!!! Netherlands restore their two-goal advantage as Klaaseen pounces on a rebound to fire into the net. Sivakov made another howler at the back, losing possession to Janssen on the edge of the box. The striker's effort clattered off the post, but Klaassen was on hand to score.
CHANCE! Promes raids down the flank and his low cross travels across the box until it reaches Blind on the far side. The Manchester United man shoots with his right foot, but misses the target with his strike.
Propper sends a cross to the back post from a free-kick and Klaassen looks to latch on to it at the back post. However, Janssen takes the ball off his head and puts his effort over the bar.
Promes has a one-on-one situation with Sivakov, but he just knocks the ball too far ahead of him, allowing the defender to pass it back to Gorbunov.
The goal will force Netherlands to come out a bit more from the back. They've been poor since scoring their second and will have to work hard to get back into rhythm.
S. Kornilenko
Assist
Belarus
Kornilenko does extremely well in the left inside channel to beat Bruma before crossing for Rios to convert.
A. Rios
Goal
Belarus
GOAL!!! Belarus have their reward for putting the home side under pressure as Rios converts from close range. Kornilneko created the opening by turning Bruma with ease and sending a low ball across the face of goal for his team-mate to score. Game on.
Belarus win an early free-kick and the chance to put Netherlands under pressure at the back.
D. Pröpper
W. Sneijder
Netherlands
Sneijder makes way at the break and is replaced by Propper.
We're back underway at the Stadion Feijenoord.
A. Hleb
I. Maevski
Belarus
Former Arsenal midfielder Hleb replaces Maevski at the break.
The players are back out for the second half, so we should be underway again shortly.
However, Belarus came very close to getting back into the contest before the break, and had they been more clinical in the final third they may have been level. As a result, there is plenty of work ahead for Blind and his team in the second half.
Netherlands take a 2-0 lead into the break and Danny Blind will be delighted with his side's performance in the opening 31 minutes of the half. Quincy Promes notched his first two international goals to give the Oranje command of the game.
HALF-TIME: NETHERLANDS 2-0 BELARUS
Netherlands are cut open again by the visitors, but Maevski's effort from a tight angle hits Stekelenburg in the hands. The home side can breathe again as the referee ends the first half.
OVER! Palitsevich seizes on the loose ball from the clearance and drives towards goal. He strikes from 30 yards and has Stekelenburg worried, although his shot goes just over the bar.
CHANCE! Gordeychuk raids past Karsdorp and fires a low ball into the box and it strikes Van Dijk's hand. The referee dismisses the claims for a penalty, but Rios almost capitalises on the chaos, but the Netherlands man at the centre of the controversy clears the danger.
For all the quality Netherlands have displayed in the final third, their defensive weaknesses remain. This match could well be level had Belarus been more clinical from their two openings. That will concern Blind as his side's intensity has dropped over the last 10 minutes.
CHANCE! Krivets cuts open Netherlands defence with an incisive throughball to release Gordeychuk. However, the midfielder cannot reduce the deficit for his team as he lifts his strike inches past the post. Gordeychuk should have brought his side back into the game there.
Rios makes a good run down the right flank and sends a dangerous cross for Kornilenko to attack, but Van Dijk gets ahead of the forward to head the ball away.
Belarus have had no answer for Netherlands play on the flanks. They've been fairly solid through the middle, but have not been able to cut crosses out from the wide areas, where Promes is thriving.
Janssen almosts beats the offside trap to latch on to Karsdorp's ball over the top, but he just strays at the last second. Fortunate for the visitors as Sivakov lost track of the striker.
MISS! Maevski makes a surge into the left inside channel and has space for a strike. Instead he cuts the ball back to Kornilenko, but Van Dijk does just enough to stop it reaching the striker, although it deflects off the defender and trickles past the post.
Q. Promes
Goal
Netherlands
GOAL!! Promes notches his second goal of the game with a low volley from the edge of the box. Belarus failed to clear the danger from the second corner and the winger struck his effort from 18 yards, and it travelled through Maevski to beat the outstretched hand of Gorbunov.
BLOCK! The cross from the resulting corner sees the ball bounce around the box, and Wijnaldum almost profits at the back post. However, Sivakov gets in a vital block to send the ball behind for another set-piece.
Karsdorp has a raid down the right flank, but for the first time in the match Belarus get a block to send the ball out for a corner.
CHANCE! Klaassen hammers his strike over the bar from the edge of the box after good build-up play down the left from Blind's men. They've been having a lot of success down the flanks thus far in the match.
Promes continues to threaten for the hosts and he beats the challenge of Bordachev to send a cross to the back post. However, Polyakov wins his header to steer the ball away from the lurking Sneijder at the back post.
OFFSIDE! Van Dijk steers the ball into the net from Sneijder's free-kick, but the linesman's flag goes up for offside. The decision is incorrect on replays as the defender held his run just enough to remain in line. Belarus get a break there.
That battle continues between Janssen and Sivakov, and it results in a free-kick for the home side in a threatening position.
CHANCE! Blind puts a dangerous cross into the box for Janssen to challenge. The striker wins the contest against Sivakov, but his header goes just wide of the post.
Promes makes a surging run through the middle of the Belarus defence, but he just cannot cut the ball back to the waiting Janssen on the edge of the six-yard box.
The home side are using the ball well in the final third, but do look vulnerable at the back. Attack might be the best form of defence for Blind's men this evening.
Belarus almost hit back immediately by winning a free-kick in a decent area of the pitch on the left flank. Again the home side struggle with a delivery into the box, but Palitsevich cannot control his headed effort, sending it well wide of the target.
Q. Promes
Goal
Netherlands
GOAL!!! Promes notches his first international goal to hand Netherlands the lead. It was a well-worked move from the home side as Janssen found space in the inside right channel and teed up the winger. Belarus fail to clear the cross and Promes pounced to find the bottom corner with a low effort through a crowd of defenders.
The home side have taken the pace out of the game after their intial burst. They're being more patient in the final third at the moment.
Netherlands calm themselves after the near miss for the visitors by winning a free-kick inside their opponents' territory. Sneijder wastes the opening by going for goal from 35 yards, crashing his shot well over the bar.
WIDE! Belarus should be ahead as Maevski latches on to a cross from the right at the back post, but his headed effort travels inches wide of the target. Netherlands were exposed at the back there.
PENALTY SHOUT! Sneijder sends the ball low into the box from the resulting corner and Van Dijk twists to catch it on the half-volley. It travels toward the net, but strikes Polyakov and the Southampton man immediately appeals for a penalty. However, his claims are dismissed by the referee.
Sivakov gives the ball away inside his own box and Promes tees up Janssen, but Palitsevich gets across in time to make a vital block to send the ball over the bar.
SAVE! Gorbunov keeps the scores level with an impressive reaction save to deny Janssen. The Tottenham striker collected on the edge of the box and spun his man to open up space for the shot. His effort appeared to be creeping into the top corner before the Belarus keeper made the stop.
A decent start from Blind's men as they have made penetration in good areas of the pitch, but are yet to test Gorbunov.
CHANCES! Promes bursts past his man down the right flank and sends a low ball into the box. Janssen fails to make a clean connection at the near post and the visitors clear, but only as far as Strootman. The Roma man shoots first time with his left foot, but strikes his effort past the post.
The Oranje make meaningful penetration down the right and Karsdorp sends a cross into the box, but Sneijder cannot make solid contact with his header from 12 yards.
The home side begin the game by knocking the ball around at the back to build a rhythm. It will be important for Blind's men to start well this evening.
Netherlands get this contest underway.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
Khatskevich has made three changes to his team this evening from their goalless draw with France. Two have come in the attacking positions as Sergey Kornilenko leads the line, while Sergey Krivets slots in behind him. Alexei Rios replaces Timofey Kalachev on the left flank.
Blind has made two changes to his side from their draw against Sweden. Rick Karsdorp comes into the side to replace Daryl Janmaat at full-back, while Maarten Stekelenburg outs Jeroen Zoet from between the sticks.
Belarus subs: Signevich, Drahun, Kalachev, Volodko, Martynovich, Chernik, Gutor, Klopotskiy, Kislyak, Filipenko, Hleb.

The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Belarus battled away against France in their opening Group A World Cup qualifying match, earning a point from the contest. Aleksandr Khatskevich will be looking for a similar display from his team tonight to frustrate the Dutch on home soil.
Blind will want to see a lot more from his team this evening to dispel any notion that they could struggle to reach the World Cup, echoing their failure to qualify for Euro 2016.
Netherlands patchy form in qualifying competitions continued in their opener against Sweden. Danny Blind's men went 1-0 down as Markus Berg found the back of the net before Wesley Sneijder's second-half equaliser rescued a point for the Oranje.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the World Cup qualifying clash between Netherlands and Belarus.
