Liverpool have time to recover for their next outing in the Premier League when they travel to face Wolves on Monday. RB Leipzig return to Bundesliga action on Sunday against Eintracht Frankfurt on home soil.
Liverpool advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League courtesy of a 2-0 win over RB Leipzig this evening, securing a 4-0 aggregate triumph. Goals in the second half from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were enough for the Reds to overcome the German outfit, who were underwhelming for the majority of the contest. Alexander Sorloth had Leipzig's best effort when he struck the bar, but other than that Julian Nagelsmann and his team had a game to forget.

Tsimikas replaces Robertson at left-back for the dying stages of the game.

Liverpool have been extremely impressive at the back in the second half. Phillips and Kabak have barely put a foot wrong.
BLOCK! Salah goes on the hunt for his second of the night. He latches on to an offload from Keita and cuts back on his left foot to shoot, but Upamecano deflects his strike wide of the left post.

OVER! Nkunku offloads into the path of Sabitzer, who goes for a blast from 25 yards, only to lift his effort well over the bar.
Liverpool have not been at their best in the tie, but they've done enough when it has mattered the most. Klopp will be a relieved man on the sideline.
Only Cristiano Ronaldo (13) has scored more knockout goals in the UEFA Champions League since Mane’s debut season in the competition in 2017-18 than the Senegalese International (12).
BLOCK! Pressure at last comes from the German side, but it's too late. Sabitzer goes for a blast following a scramble in the penalty area, but his effort is charged down by Kabak.
The game is beyond the reach of Leipzig now as they now need five goals to win the tie.
Origi collects a pass from Keita before drilling a low cross to the back post that allows Mane to tap the ball home.

Jota leads a break at the Leipzig defence after latching on to Mane's pass. He cuts an offload back to Salah in space and the Egyptian displays a clinical edge to find the bottom-right corner with his left-footed effort.
Liverpool are not at it in the final third as Salah allows a pass from Thiago to escape his left foot.
OFF THE BAR! Sorloth angles a header towards goal, but his effort clatters off the bar before Olmo drills his strike over on the rebound. Liverpool are sitting in a comfortable position at the moment. The pressure has not come from the German outfit yet.
OFFSIDE! The offside flag goes up late against Jota, but he still misses another great opening, placing a tame effort at Gulacsi before Salah lifts the rebound over the bar. Both players will be quietly relieved to see the flag raised on the right flank.
Jota collects a ball over the top down the left flank and he cuts a pass back to the edge of the box. However, no one in a red shirt is on the same page as it travels behind three players surging into the box.
The impetus has still not been there from the German outfit since the restart. They have to put the Reds under pressure at the back.
Phillips wins a key header at the back for the Reds against Sorloth, allowing Wijnaldum to mop up the danger.
Olmo releases Nkunku down the left flank, but the midfielder takes a loose first touch and the ball travels out for a goal-kick.
We're back underway at the Puskas Arena.
Nagelsmann adds another attacker to the field as Kampl is withdrawn for Sorloth.
Julian Nagelsmann needs his team to up the ante in the second half. They were tentative in their approach in the early stages of the game and allowed the Reds to settle. A goal soon after the restart could send nerves jangling in the Liverpool ranks.
It's goalless at the break in the second leg Champions League round-of-16 clash between Liverpool and RB Leipzig. The Reds have missed golden opportunities to extend their lead in the tie as Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have all missed from close range. Leipzig have to force the issue in the final third. It has been too easy for the Reds at the back thus far, especially for an inexperienced pairing in Phillips and Kabak.
Leipzig are starting to find their rhythm in the final third to put Liverpool under pressure. Nagelsmann needs a stronger intensity from his team before the break.

RB Leipzig need to take the game to the Reds this evening given their two-goal deficit. The German outfit were off the boil defensively in the first leg and were duly punished. Julian Nagelsmann's side have been in great form since their defeat, reeling off four wins on the bounce in all competitions, including a 3-0 win over Freiburg last time out. It will take a flawless effort tonight to topple Liverpool though.
Liverpool hold a 2-0 lead heading into the contest courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the first leg. The Reds have endured a miserable run of form in the Premier League, losing six out of their last seven games. Jurgen Klopp and his team will feel the Champions League offers respite, and considering their form at Anfield, they may not mind playing in Hungary this evening as they look to secure a quarter-final berth.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the second leg of the Champions League round-of-16 clash between Liverpool and RB Leipzig at the Puskas Arena.
