That's all for tonight though, goodbye!
Lincoln will gain a lot of confidence from their defensive display in the first 60 minutes, and it should stand them in good stead for their upcoming games in League One. Meanwhile, Everton will be buoyed by Richarlison getting off the mark for the season - and they'll naturally be pleased they avoided an upset!
Everton come through a testing cup tie here eventually. After going in at the break with the game tied at 1-1, the away side burst out in the second period and took the lead through Sigurdsson's penalty. They were momentarily stunned by Andrade's thumping equaliser, however, the gulf between the sides eventually told, with late Iwobi and Richarlison goals helping Everton squeeze into the next round.

FULL TIME: LINCOLN 2-4 EVERTON
90' + 4'
Lewis is next in the book for a nasty challenge from behind on Richarlison.
90' + 3'
Everton are coasting in stoppage time now, and the scoreline's just about deserved - they've had 24 shots compared to Lincoln's nine.
90' + 1'
Lincoln look weary all of a sudden, and Walcott almost makes them pay as he gets free down the left, but he slices his cross into the side netting from a great position.
Richarlison was booked in the aftermath for removing his shirt.
Digne's been one of the best players out there tonight, and he crowns a brilliant display with a delightful assist to match his earlier strike!
EVERTON SEAL IT! Digne toys with Lewis down the left flank and he swings a cross towards the penalty spot, where Richarlison drifts in to power a header past Smith!
Anderson lets out a little frustration by clipping Walcott 30 yards from goal on the left, and earns a booking. The set-piece is easily cleared, though.
Lincoln almost fire back yet again! The home side push for another corner, and the set-piece results in Pickford making a fantastic reflex save at his near post from a Bolger header. Just a breathless second half!
The goalscorer is immediately replaced by Walcott in a like-for-like substitution on the left flank.
Tosun did superbly to remain calm and head it back into a dangerous area there. It would have been easy to take a shot himself, but Iwobi was clearly the right option to target!
EVERTON TAKE THE LEAD AGAIN! Richarlison purposely drives down the right flank and stands a cross up to the back post. Tosun meets it and selflessly nods the ball across the face of goal, where Iwobi's on hand to head the ball past Smith's despairing dive!
Lincoln charge forward again, and Andrade's cross to Akinde sparks panic in the away side's backline. A series of shots are blocked inside the box, before Keane slices a clearance away for a corner that ultimately, comes to nothing.
Everton look slightly shocked by that goal. They regain their nerve with a spell of possession amongst their back four, before O'Connor clears their long ball forward.
Kean's had a lively, but ultimately frustrating game, and he's now replaced up top by Tosun.
Delph is replaced by Calvert-Lewin, as the Premier League side urgently shift into a more attacking system.
The home side have shown tremendous resolve to strike back after the disappointment of going behind. Everton now only have 20 minutes to avoid penalties!
BRILLIANT GOAL FOR LINCOLN! Fresh from that missed opportunity, Eardley clips a long ball forward to Akinde. The striker loses out in the air, but it drops kindly for Andrade who hammers a volley home from 20 yards into the roof of the net! Pickford was helpless there!
What a chance to equalise for Lincoln! Andrade pounces on a mistake from Sidibe and cuts the ball back for Anderson. It's a strikingly similar opportunity to the first goal, but this time Anderson miscues and the ball rolls right past him!
Iwobi almost extends the lead! The Nigerian winger darts past Lewis, and as he approaches goal, he fires off a stinging shot that flashes just wide of the far post!
Payne's had an excellent game for Lincoln, but he's now replaced by Grant who takes his place just behind the striker.
Sidibe gets past Toffolo again from the restart and dinks a cross towards Kean, but it sails over everyone and out for a throw.
Morrell is replaced by Eardley as Lincoln search for more energy in their tiring midfield.
Lincoln - acutely aware that Shackell might be talking his way into further punishment - bring on Bostwick in the heart of their defence.
Even after separating the crowd of players, arguments continue and now Pickford's been booked too!
Sigurdsson is yellow carded for his part in the altercation with Shackell.
Shackell is still upset with the decision and continues arguing with Sigurdsson after the goal. The referee intervenes before tempers raise any further and books them both.
EVERTON TAKE THE LEAD! Kean makes an incisive run in behind Shackell before laying it off to Richarlison who's tripped as he latches onto the pass. Sigurdsson steps up and calmly sends Smith the wrong way to put Everton ahead!
First booking of the game as Andrade scythes down Sidibe as he makes progress down the right-hand side.
Lincoln win their first corner of the half in response. Shackell gets free at the back post from a well-worked delivery but his volley is hit straight into the ground and Pickford scoops it up.
Sidibe lofts another delivery in from the right and it drifts menacingly towards Iwobi at the back post. His first touch is poor though and Toffolo sneaks in and stops the danger.
The League One side continue to stand up to the early pressure in this period. First Kean is dispossessed on the edge of the box, before Iwobi is also crowded out.
Kean wins a vital flick on and suddenly Sidibe is storming down the right flank unhindered. He scurries into the box and lashes a low cross towards the goalmouth, where Shackell desperately hacks it clear for a corner.
Everton - as you'd expect - had 73% possession in that first period. For Lincoln to force penalties, or even a win, they'll need another half of determined, strictly organised defensive work.
Everton get us going for the second half - no changes for either side.
As it stands, Lincoln are making Everton work incredibly hard for openings and they'll be growing increasingly more confident that they can pull off a shock result.
Lincoln made an electric start here, finding the net within 30 seconds through Anderson's composed finish after great work from Payne down the left-wing. However, Everton recovered from the shock strongly; after spending much of the half examining Lincoln's defence, they finally broke through from Digne's expertly placed free-kick. They had chances to take the lead through Kean and Richarlison after that, but the home side held firm to ensure the score remained level at half time.

HALF TIME: LINCOLN 1-1 EVERTON
Half time approaches with Everton probing once more. They're consistently switching the ball out to their full-backs who are hugging the touchline and spreading the pitch. They stretch Lincoln again with a ball out wide to Digne but Shackell heads his cross away.
Lincoln win a free kick in a similar position to the Digne strike. Andrade can't mirror the Everton man's magic though, and his shot is driven straight into the wall.
The excitement of the last ten minutes continues! This time Richarlison rides a few challenges before finding himself free inside the Lincoln box. However, it's a tired finish from the Brazillian as he scuffs a shot wide of the near post from a great position.
Almost another for Everton! Kean picks it up on the right flank near the halfway line. A fantastic slaloming run follows, and eventually the Everton striker unleashes a venomous shot from inside the box that cracks straight back off the near post!
Lincoln almost retake the lead immediately! Roared on by the home fans, Lincoln quickly earn a corner which sees Bolger's towering header at the back post blocked as it powers towards goal!
EVERTON EQUALISER! Sigurdsson wins a free kick 30 yards from goal in a central area, after being hauled down. Digne steps up and curls a tremendous bending effort over the wall and into the top corner! Smith had no chance!
Sigurdsson is cynically tripped after driving past O'Connor and Everton finds themselves with yet another set-piece to work with.
Lincoln quickly break and Andrade latches onto a bobbling through ball. He hits is early on the half volley from 25 yards, but screws it well wide with the outside of his foot. Everton - despite their dominance - need to be wary of Lincoln adding to their lead.
Keane rises highest at the back post from the next corner, but he's always straining to reach the cross and can only nod the ball comfortably into Smith's grateful arms.
Everton win their sixth corner, which is promptly cleared. However, the ball only gets as far as Sigurdsson who drives towards the byline and cuts it back to earn another corner.
The resulting cross causes panic amongst the Everton defence, but Shackell can't quite leap high enough to make contact with the looping delivery and it runs out of play.
Payne attempts to drive at the heart of Everton's midfield again, but gets dispossessed by Delph. O'Connor reacts first to reach the loose ball and earn a free-kick 30 yards out.
Everton have taken nine shots compared to Lincoln's one so far - they've dominated since the early shock of the goal. Nevertheless, the home side will be delighted with their start, and the way they've fended off their Premier League opponents.
Kean holds off Bolger from a long ball down the channel and finds himself goalside eight yards out. However, Bolger manages to put off the Everton striker just enough to force a tame effort that rolls harmlessly into Smith.
Kean plays a one-two with Sigurdsson just outside the box, where Bolger slides in to cut the ball out and poke it away for a corner. The resulting set-piece sees Holgates powerful near-post header cleared off the line!
Once again Lincoln deal with the corner comfortably though. The League One side are looking extremely well organised so far.
EVERTON CLOSE AGAIN! Iwobi finds a pocket of space 25 yards out and cracks off a fierce, swirling strike at Smith, but the Lincoln goalkeeper does brilliantly to palm the shot over the bar.
The home side make a rare foray down the left-hand side. Andrade is offered too much space by Everton and fires in a threatening cross that just misses Akinde at the back post.
Lincoln are trying to calm the game down slighty with some time in possession. Eventually they're pressed too deep and Shackell's long ball forward can't find Akinde.
ALMOST AN EQUALISER! Digne whips in a devious cross and it evades almost everyone aside from Sigurdsson at the back post, but he can only volley straight at Smith from close range.
It's been a strange game so far though. Lincoln have barely made it out of their half since scoring within seconds of kick off! The latest spell of Everton possession results in a well-worked corner that's thwarted by a brave block.
A slick interchange between Digne and Iwobi leads to the former flying towards the Lincoln backline. Digne appears to be clipped from behind but the referee waves play on and Everton are forced to rebuild in their own half.
The away side have been entrenched in Lincoln's half since the goal. The latest attack sees Delph clip a pass out towards Digne on the left flank, but his cross is poorly hit and is calmly cleared.
Everton rally with a period of possession culminating in Sigurdsson slicing a volley from 25 yards straight into Smith's grasp.
Schniederlin and Sidibe dithered after a loose ball slid between them and Payne took full advantage! He burst through and retained his composure to pick out the onrushing Anderson.
GOAL RIGHT AWAY! Lincoln have scored within seconds here! A defensive mixup allows Payne to wriggle to the byline where he cuts it back for Anderson to steer a cushioned shot past Pickford from six yards!
Lincoln get the game underway attacking from right to left.
The players are in the tunnel now and kick-off is seconds away!
Making the third round will likely be a difficult task for the home side today though. The last time Lincoln reached the League Cup third round was during the 1996-97 campaign, and Everton have only lost two of their last 19 away League Cup games against sides from a lower division!
Five changes for both sides, as they look to gently rotate their squads while remaining competitive. Lincoln continue with the attacking setup that’s seen them adapt to life quickly in League One since promotion – they feature three talented attackers playing off the disruptive Akinde. Everton, meanwhile, will be most excited by Kean’s full debut up top. The forward arrived from Juventus in August, and the away fans will be thrilled to get a proper look at their new signing.

Hello and welcome to live coverage of this EFL Cup fixture between Lincoln City and Everton. Despite the gap between League One and the Premier League, the two sides last met as recently as January in another cup tie. On that day at Goodison Park, Everton squeezed through with a 2-1 victory and they’ll be looking to safely navigate their way past the hosts again today.
