Thanks for joining me for this coverage of Lazio's 3-1 win over Inter in Serie A.
The win for the hosts sends them up to fifth, three points behind their opponents in this match and just a point behind city rivals Roma. For the visitors, they miss out on the chance to at least briefly go above their own rivals Milan and remain in third. Sarri's men will play away to Verona next time out in Serie A, while Inter will host Juventus in a big fixture in their next league game.
What a comeback by the hosts! They end up winning 3-1 after going into the break facing a goal deficit. In a first half which they probably shaded, Lazio went in 1-0 down with Perisic converting a penalty after Barella was brought down by Hysaj. In the second half though they hit back, getting themselves level on 64 minutes with an Immobile penalty after Bastoni was deemed to have blocked a Patric header from a corner with his hand. They then took the lead after Anderson converted a rebound from an Immobile shot that Handanovic could only parry into the Brazilian's path, before Milinkovic-Savic sealed the victory with a late header from an Alberto free-kick.
Luiz Felipe
Red Card
90' + 7' Felipe is red-carded for an incident during a scuffle after the final whistle.
90' + 6' Correa's effort at goal is easily saved by Reina and that might be that.
90' + 5' Vecino tries to shoot but his shot is blocked by his own man away from danger.
90' + 3' The visitors desperately send some crosses into the box but can't come up with any result and the home side clear.
Luis Alberto
90' + 1' It was a lovely delivery from the free-kick by Alberto that allowed Milinkovic-Savic to rise highest and nod home.
S. Milinković-Savić
90' + 1' And it's 3-1 to Lazio! From the resulting free-kick Milinkovic-Savic wins his header and sends it into the left corner of the net, giving Handanovic no chance. It looks as if the hosts are on their way to a big three points.
M. Darmian
Yellow Card
90' + 1' Darmian is now booked after bringing down Lazzari as he charged forward.
90' Immobile sends a weak shot at Handanovic and the keeper easily saves it. The Italian really should've done better there.
89' Dumfries is now perhaps lucky to not receive a second yellow card after catching Marusic with an elbow.
J. Correa
Yellow Card
87' Correa is now also yellow-carded for a foul on Akpa Akpro.
J. Akpa Akpro
Felipe Anderson
86' The scorer of the potential winner Anderson is replaced by Akpa Akpro.
H. Çalhanoğlu
N. Barella
86' Turkish international Calhanoglu comes on for Barella.
D. Cataldi
Lucas Leiva
85' Lucas makes way for Cataldi.
Felipe Anderson
Yellow Card
83' Anderson also sees yellow after scoring for his actions during the scuffle.
S. Milinković-Savić
Yellow Card
83' Milinkovic-Savic is booked for his part in the melee.
Lautaro Martínez
Yellow Card
83' Martinez is cautioned by the referee too.
D. Dumfries
Yellow Card
83' Dumfries goes in the book for grabbing Anderson after the goal.
83' A huge scuffle started immediately after the goal, and we may see the referee take some action here. It appears that Inter weren't happy that Dimarco was down during the Lazio attack and wanted the home side to put the ball out. They didn't however, and ended up scoring from the resulting assault.
Felipe Anderson
81' And Lazio lead! Immobile sees a shot parried away by Handanovic but only into the path of Anderson who easily finishes into an empty net, sending the home fans into raptures.
80' Marusic's cross somehow goes all the way through to Handanovic, who had to be alert to get across and stop it sneaking in at the far post.
78' Correa does excellently to work it to Darmian who's cross goes all the way through to Dumfries at the back, but the Dutch defender can't get any good contact on the ball and it squirms away for a goal-kick.
Lautaro Martínez
E. Džeko
76' Argentinian Martinez comes on in place of Dzeko.
M. Zaccagni
75' Pedro comes off for Zaccagni.
73' Correa tries to squeeze a low cross into the box from the left but it's cleared.
71' Inter have scored two or more goals in all seven of their Serie A games so far this season. Can they carry on that streak here and give themselves a chance to win the game?
69' With just over 20 minutes left, both managers have made changes in their pursuit of a winning goal. Will either side be able to do so?
M. Vecino
R. Gagliardini
67' Inzaghi brings on Vecino for Gagliardini.
D. Dumfries
A. Bastoni
67' Yellow-carded Bastoni is replaced by Dumfries.
J. Correa
I. Perišić
67' Goalscorer Perisic makes way for Correa.
Luis Alberto
T. Bašić
66' Basic comes off for Alberto.
M. Lazzari
E. Hysaj
66' Hysaj, who gave the penalty away for Perisic's goal, makes way for Lazzari.
C. Immobile
Penalty Goal
64' Immobile converts the spot-kick! The striker does the same as Perisic did in the first half and sends the keeper the wrong way while calmly placing the ball in the bottom right to make it 1-1.
A. Bastoni
Yellow Card
63' Bastoni is booked for his handball that led to the penalty.
63' And now it's the hosts who have a penalty! Patric wins the header from the corner and sends it goalwards; however, it doesn't make it to the goal as it hits Bastoni's hand. The referee decides the Inter man's arm was in an unnatural position and points to the spot.
62' Pedro sends a cross in from the left that causes the defence issues and forces Perisic to smash behind for a corner.
60' Milinkovic-Savic sends an optimistic shot from distance wide to the right of Handanovic's goal.
59' The visitors have probably been the better team so far in this second half as they look for a second goal.
57' Dimarco's free-kick is deep to the back post but Milinkovic-Savic manages to nod it away from danger.
56' Dimarco does well to get his side up the pitch on the counter and win a free-kick after being brought down by Patric.
54' This would be the hosts' first loss in their last 17 home Serie A games, their longest unbeaten run at home since 2002.
52' Immobile weaves into the box but then sends a wayward effort at goal that flies over.
51' Darmian sends a tame header at goal from a Dimarco cross that Reina easily gathers.
50' Barella sends in a threatening cross but it goes all the way through for a throw-in to the hosts.
48' If Inzaghi's side hold on, this will be Lazio's second consecutive Serie A loss for the first time since March.
46' The visitors get us back under way for the second period.
The scoreline sets us up for an exciting second half as the hosts look to find their way back into this game. They can probably count themselves unlucky to be going into the break facing a deficit, and will look to ramp the pressure up even more in their search for an equaliser. Will Sarri make a change at the break to help them do so?
And so it’s the reigning champions who lead 1-0 at the break; however, they certainly haven’t had it all their own way. They took the advantage with 12 minutes gone after Barella was brought down by Hysaj in the box for a penalty with Perisic duly converting the spot-kick as he sent Reina the wrong way. After that though it was the hosts who had the best opportunities, with Basic going closest with a low effort from an Anderson cross. Milinkovic-Savic also saw a decent long-distance effort saved by Handanovic, while Perisic nearly had a second goal at the other end as Reina was forced to scramble across to push it away.
45' There will be one minute of additional time at the end of this first half.
44' Pedro shoots from outside the box but his dipping effort is deflected behind. The corner is swung in by Anderson but headed clear.
43' The full-back is up and we are back under way.
42' Darmian is down despite the fact it was him who clattered into Pedro. Dumfries is being warmed up, but it looks as if Darmian will be okay to continue.
41' Milinkovic-Savic fires an effort at goal from 30 yards out, but Handanovic gets down low to his left to catch it.
39' The free-kick is really poor and is easily headed away.
38' Gagliardini is brought down in midfield by Anderson, and it looks as if the visitors will try and get a delivery into the box.
R. Gagliardini
Yellow Card
36' Gagliardini is booked for a sliding challenge from behind on Lucas as the Brazilian ran away from him.
35' Perisic gets the ball played into his feet outside the box, and he shifts left before firing an effort at goal. Reina does well though to get over and push it wide.
33' Anderson is really causing Dimarco trouble down the right. He wins another corner, which is played short. The resulting cross from Marusic finds Immobile in the box, but his header ends up coming off the wrong part of his head and going behind for a goal-kick.
32' A low cross from Barella finds Dzeko in the box but his diving header is well wide.
31' Barella finds himself in space on the corner of the box and tries to curl an effort into the far post; however, he can't get enough bend on his effort and it goes high and wide.
29' Anderson wins a corner as he tries to break on the counter. The first corner is headed behind for another, and then the second one is dealt with as well.
T. Bašić
Yellow Card
27' Basic sees yellow for bringing down Barella in midfield.
26' The hosts are really putting the pressure on now in their pursuit of an equaliser. A couple of crosses come to nothing, but it's certainly positive signs for them.
24' It could've been 1-1! Anderson does brilliantly again down the right to get to the byline and send a cross in, and this time it's Basic who gets on the end of it. He sends a low driven shot at goal but he can't get the direction right and goalkeeper Handanovic pushes it away from danger.
23' Immobile tries to cleverly make space for a shot by flicking it through his own legs but he gets swarmed by defenders and the visitors clear.
22' Dimarco wins a corner on the left-hand side, which he goes over to take. Felipe clears the resulting set-piece however.
20' It's fair to say that the hosts have been the better team so far in this game, and yet they find themselves a goal down.
18' Perisic's penalty was the 250th goal that Inter have scored against today's opponents in the league.
16' Dimarco is down injured and Brozovic puts the ball out. However, he's back up and we are under way again.
14' It's been a positive reaction by the hosts as they look to get back into this game.
I. Perišić
Penalty Goal
12' Perisic converts the penalty! He calmly sends the keeper the wrong way and slots it into the right corner, making it 1-0 to the visitors.
12' And Inter have a penalty! A ball played down the line is reached by Barella just as Hysaj also went for the ball, and the defender brings down the Italy international, giving the referee no choice but to point to the spot.
11' Anderson does well to get to the byline on the right and manages to squeeze a low cross back into the box, but Pedro's shot is blocked. Lucas then tries to smash a long-distance shot but it flies well over.
10' Dzeko tries to latch onto a lofted throughball but he just can't get the ball down and it skips away for a goal kick.
8' Darmian wins a corner as his cross is blocked. However, Dimarco's ball in can only be sent well wide off the head of De Vrij.
7' The hosts have definitely started this game the better, as the reigning champions just haven't quite got into the game yet.
5' Another Lazio free-kick is played down the right before a cross is floated over, however it's far too deep and goes behind for a goal kick.
4' Basic's free-kick is very poor and can't make it past the wall. That was a waste of a good shooting position.
3' Pedro wins a free-kick in a dangerous position after being bundled over by Brozovic.
2' Dzeko sends an early header over the bar from a Perisic cross. The striker just couldn't get enough height on his jump to threaten the goal.
1' The hosts kick us off and we are under way.
The two sides make their way onto the pitch.
Visiting manager Simone Inzaghi opts for four changes after the international break, with Martinez and Correa missing out after playing for Argentina in midweek as Perisic and Dzeko come in to replace them. Dumfries and Calhanoglu are on the bench as Darmian and Gagliardini start instead.
Home manager Maurizio Sarri goes for three changes as Basic and Immobile come in for Alberto and Muriqi who are both on the bench, while Patric comes in for the suspended Acerbi after he was sent off against Bologna.
