Italy players celebrating Jamaica Italy Women’s World Cup
Le Azzurre top Group C after a thumping 5-0 win over Jamaica and their clash against Vadao's side in Valenciennes should yield plenty more goals

Italy are looking to complete a clean sweep of their Women's World Cup group as they take on Brazil in Valenciennes on Tuesday.

The South Americans were on the wrong end of a remarkable turnaround in their previous game. Vadao's side led 2-0 against Australia as half-time approached but ended up losing 3-2 to dent their hopes of topping Group C.

Latest odds

Despite Italy's impressive start, bet365 make them 19/10 (2.90) underdogs for this game. It’s worth noting that a point would be enough for Italy to progress as group winners and that could be impacting the bookmakers’ assessment of their credentials here.

Brazil are 11/8 (2.38) to take another step towards the knockout stages with a victory while a stalemate is available at 23/10 (3.30).

Team news

Cristiana Girelli fired a hat-trick against Jamaica on matchday two while Aurora Galli came off the bench to notch twice against the Reggae Girlz.

Marta's penalty against the Matildas means the 33-year-old has scored in World Cups, the only player to do so.

She was replaced at half-time in that game though, and having not featured in Brazil's opening game, punters are advised to await team news before considering any goalscorer bets.

While there was an element of VAR controversy about their defeat to Australia last time out, the match reinforced that Vadao's side still have plenty of work to do at the back.

The clean sheet against Jamaica in their opening game of this competition was the only time in 13 matches that Brazil have kept their opponents scoreless.

Italy have been no strangers to open encounters either, Le Azzurre have seen both teams score in six of their previous seven games.

With that in mind it's no surprise to see bet365 price a repeat at just 8/13 (1.62).

Given that both sides look much more comfortable going forward than they do at the back, backing a high-scoring clash is the way to go.

Over 2.5 goals is available at 4/5 (1.80) and looks a solid option but punters are advised to be a little more ambitious for this Group C clash.

Adding both teams to score increases the price to a tempting 21/20 (2.05) with bet365. This is a selection that has paid out in five of Italy's last seven games and looks worth backing again as two capabale attacking sides square off at Stade du Hainaut.
