That's all for today's live coverage. Thanks for joining!
Conte's men are now eight points adrift of leaders Juventus having played the same number of matches. Next up for Inter is a trip to Parma on Sunday, the same day that 12th-place Sassuolo host Hellas Verona.
Inter's Scudetto hopes are surely over for another season following a damaging 3-3 draw with Sassuolo. Lukaku's penalty and Biraghi's strike late in the first half cancelled out Caputo's early opener. Berardi equalised for the visitors nine minutes from time, soon after Gagliardini missed a sitter, only for Valero to make it 3-2. Sassuolo snatched a point through Magnani's late tap-in, though, and there was still time for Skriniar to be dismissed.
90' + 4' It is official - this game really has had it all following that red card for Skriniar. The three minutes of added time are up...
90' + 3' INTER DOWN TO 10! Skriniar catches Kyriakopoulos and gets none of the ball. The referee Davide Massa shows the Inter centre-back a second yellow card.
90' + 1' Inter are desperately chasing a fourth goal - even that might not be enough for all three points on the basis of the previous 91 minutes! Sassuolo do not seem as though they are willing to sit back on a point, either.
90' Three minutes have been added on at the end of this truly incredible contest!
G. Magnani
89' GOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!!! INTER 3-3 SASSUOLO!! What a game! Berardi flashes an uncleared corner back across the face of goal. It takes a touch on its way through to Magnani, who has the simplest of finishes from close range.
88' OFF THE POST! Muldur's powerful shot is kept out by a mixture of Handanovic and the post. Sassuolo are pushing hard for a leveller here.
87' BIG CHANCE TO SEAL IT! Lukaku unselfishly plays in Candreva to his right. The wing-back is unable to get the better of Consigli from the one-on-one.
A. Candreva
86' This was a delightful delivery from Candreva, but the less said about Sassuolo's defending the better. How was Valero allowed to ghost in unmarked at the back post?
Borja Valero
86' GOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!!! INTER 3-2 SASSUOLO!! THE HOSTS HAVE SURELY WON IT! Candreva floats in a free-kick from the left and a completely unmarked Valero helps it over the line from less than a yard out. It may have been going in without the touch.
84' LUKAKU GOAL DISALLOWED! Martinez's shot is parried by Consigli and Lukaku drills in the rebound from close range. However, the goal is quickly ruled out as the Belgium striker was offside.
83' Martinez swoops down to meet a right-sided cross but cannot keep the header on target. It takes a touch on its way through, though, and Inter have another corner.
D. Berardi
Penalty Goal
81' GOOOOAAAALLL!!!! INTER 2-2 SASSUOLO!! Berardi's penalty is pretty weak and aimed near enough down the middle, but Handanovic is unable to keep it out and Sassuolo are level!
80' PENALTY FOR SASSUOLO!! Young goes through the back of Muldur and Sassuolo are awarded a penalty late on!
G. Magnani
V. Chiricheș
79' There is another break in play now as Magnani comes on for Chiriches.
78' It does not seem as though that Young handball incident was even checked by VAR. It was a strong shout for the visitors.
77' PENALTY APPEAL! Young has been on the field for less than a minute but is already in the thick of the action. Muldur flicks the ball and it definitely comes off the wing-back's arm, though in his defence he was trying to get it out of the way.
A. Young
C. Biraghi
75' Young is on and Biraghi off in the hosts' fifth and final change of the game.
A. Candreva
V. Moses
75' Moses is replaced by Candreva in a like-for-like change at wing-back.
75' Muldur is given plenty of time and space to drill a shot towards goal from 15 yards. It is off target, though, and none of his team-mates are able to get a touch in a crowded box.
74' Handanovic races off his line and gets to the ball ahead of Djuricic. Inter are struggling to get the ball high up the pitch.
72' The game has gone a little stale over the last few minutes. Sassuolo are the side currently on top, but they have been unable to carve out any clear-cut chances in the second half.
71' Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi has scored three goals in his last four Serie A games against a team in the top three positions at the start of the matchday, the last one coming against Inter in the reverse fixture.
69' Handanovic pounces on the ball after Djuricic pulled it back from the byline. With a little over 20 minutes to go here, Sassuolo are growing in confidence.
L. Haraslín
J. Boga
67' Haraslin comes on for Boga in the visitors' latest roll of the dice.
66' That Gagliardini miss really was quite something. Inter should be home and dry, but as it is they still have work to do if they are to collect all three points.
65' WHAT A MISS!! End the competition for miss of the season - we have just witnessed it! Lukaku's shot is saved by Consigli but Gagliardini gets on the end of the loose ball. No more than four yards out, and with an empty net to aim for, his smashes it against the crossbar. Incredible!
63' Inter boss Conte appears to have been booked by referee Davide Massa for something he said.
Lautaro Martínez
A. Sánchez
62' Sanchez, who set up Inter's second goal, makes way for Martinez.
L. Agoumé
C. Eriksen
62' Agoume is on for Eriksen is the latest of Inter's changes.
61' Lukaku leads a one-man counter. He races halfway up the field and works a shooting angle, but his attempt is blocked.
60' Chiriches' deflected header dips onto the roof of the Inter net. The hosts are being penned in here.
G. Defrel
F. Caputo
58' Defrel takes over from goal-scorer Caputo for the final half an hour or so.
M. Locatelli
F. Magnanelli
58' De Zerbi makes a double change with nearly an hour played. Locatelli is on for Magnanelli in the first of those substitutions.
58' Inter have to be careful here - they are dropping far too deep. Following another prolonged spell in possession, Obiang gets a shot away that takes a deflection on its way through.
56' The visitors are enjoying a spell in possession. They work it down the right but Muldur is accused of fouling Bastoni and Inter have a chance to slow things down.
S. de Vrij
A. Ranocchia
54' De Vrij is on for Ranocchia at centre-back in Conte's first change of the contest.
54' Valero volleys the corner into the stands. Inter have started the second half well as they go in search of a third goal.
53' ANOTHER STOP! Consigli is being made to work in the early stages of the second half. Gagliardini digs out a shot from 25 yards and the Sassuolo goalkeeper once again helps it over the crossbar.
51' SAVE! Biraghi lifts the free-kick over the wall and Consigli tips the ball over the crossbar. The Inter wing-back has been very good today.
50' Eriksen slips the ball in behind for Sanchez, who is sent crashing to the ground by Chiriches. The Sassuolo defender is fortunate to avoid a booking for that.
48' Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has scored 19 goals in Serie A this season - his second-best campaign in the top-five European leagues, behind only 2016-17 when netting 25 for Everton in the Premier League.
46' RESTART! Inter, who will move to within six points of leaders Juventus as things stand, get us back underway at a deserted San Siro.
G. Kiriakopoulos
46' Sassuolo have made a change at the interval. Kyriakopoulos is on for Rogerio, who picked up a knock in the first half.
Conte will be feeling far happier following that quick turnaround late in the first half. Martinez was surprisingly left out of the starting line-up today but will surely play a part in the second half, while Sassuolo can call upon the likes of Defrel and Locatelli should they wish.
Inter struggled for large parts of the first half but take a 2-1 lead into half-time. Lukaku scored from the penalty spot and Biraghi netted an impressive second five minutes later to cancel out Caputo's opener for a lively Sassuolo side.
A. Sánchez
45' + 1' Full credit to Sanchez for playing the ball straight back into the path of Biraghi, who has undoubtedly been Inter's best player so far.
C. Biraghi
45' + 1' GOOOOAAAALLL!!! INTER 2-1 SASSUOLO!! Just like that, Inter have turned the game on its head! Biraghi gets a bit fortunate with a ricochet on the edge of the box before playing a give-and-go with Sanchez. When through on goal he lifts the ball over Consigli into the roof of the net - great finish!
A. Bastoni
Yellow Card
44' Bastoni prevents Consigli from quickly releasing the ball and is the third player to be cautioned in the first half.
43' Sanchez drops deep to collect the ball and clips a pass down the left for Biraghi to bring under control. A cross is played into the middle and sent behind for a corner, which comes to little.
R. Lukaku
Penalty Goal
41' GOOOOAAAAALLLL!!!! INTER 1-1 SASSUOLO!! Lukaku tucks the ball towards the bottom-right corner and Consigli guesses the wrong way. It is all square at San Siro!
40' PENALTY FOR INTER!! Boga attempts to clear the ball but only succeeds in catching Skriniar. Lukaku has a chance to level things up for Inter from the spot...
39' Sassuolo defender Muldur is in need of some treatment. The physio comes on and, after a 60-second break, play continues.
38' A period of sustained Inter possession culminates in Biraghi's cross from the left being easily dealt with. The hosts do not particularly look like scoring at the moment.
36' Caputo charges towards the opposition box and appears to be clipped. He stays on his feet and runs into trouble, but that is another worrying moment for Inter.
35' COUNTER! Moses sends in a couple of dangerous crosses from the right as Inter finally build some momentum. Yet again, though, Sassuolo hit them on the counter and Berardi flashes one just wide.
33' Inter are all over the place at the back. A simple pass sees Rogerio played into space in the opposition box, but his attempted cross towards the back post is turned behind by Biraghi.
31' Rogerio, already on a yellow card, fouls Skriniar close to the touchline and a furious Conte wants him sent-off. The referee just gives the Sassuolo man a brief talking to.
30' Sassuolo are in complete control of the match at the moment, a goal to the good and with plenty of confidence to knock the ball around their opponents. It was only three days ago they lost 4-1 to Atalanta, remember...
28' Djuricic has been superb in the opening half an hour. He goes for goal from more than 25 yards out and the shot deflects over the bar for a corner.
27' Sanchez loses his footing in the box before he can get a shot away. The angle now against him, he looks to pick out a team-mate at the front post but Consigli is able to gather.
M. Škriniar
Yellow Card
25' The lively Djuricic is tripped by Skriniar, who joins Rogerio in being shown a yellow card.
25' A near-miss from Sanchez aside, Inter have created next to nothing in the opening quarter of the game. Sassuolo, by comparison, look incredibly dangerous when they get on the ball in the final third and are deserving of their lead.
24' Berardi collides with Bastoni and comes out second best. After a short stoppage, play is able to resume.
Yellow Card
23' Rogerio barges into Moses and is shown the first yellow card of the match.
21' ANOTHER CHANCE GOES BEGGING! This is Sassuolo's third big opportunity of the match. The angle is against Djuricic and he decides against taking on the shot with just Handanovic to beat. The pull-back for Caputo is cut out.
19' It is constant pressure from Inter now. Sassuolo turn over possession, however, and Caputo has Berardi for support, but his attempted through-ball lacks power and the visitors survive another scare.
17' SAVE! Lukaku is brought down by Chiriches on the edge of the Sassuolo box. Biraghi plays a one-two with Sanchez and whips a shot on target from an angle, forcing Consigli into his first save of the game.
15' Caputo once again catches out Inter's defenders with his movement in behind. Unlike for his early goal, though, he is unable to get a shot away as possession is turned over.
13' JUST WIDE! Biraghi floats in a cross from the left and Sanchez gets his head to it first. The ball is headed downward and drops inches wide of the target.
12' Sassuolo are causing Inter plenty of problems down the hosts' left-hand side. Muldur is played in behind and gets a cross into the box, where Ranocchia is waiting to head behind for a corner.
10' Inter boss Antonio Conte has won all three of his games against Sassuolo in Serie A, with an aggregate score of 11-4. His team has always scored at least three goals in these meetings.
8' Berardi is given a pass to chase down towards the right. He twists away from one player but gets himself in a bit of a tangle and Inter are able to clear the ball.
6' Skriniar was guilty of keeping Caputo onside - poor defending from the experienced centre-back. Conte's men need to wake up after making a sloppy start to their first home league game back.
F. Đuričić
4' This was brilliant play from Djuricic. He took the ball past a couple of opposition players and threaded it through for Caputo to do the rest.
F. Caputo
4' GOOOOAAAAALLLL!!!! INTER 0-1 SASSUOLO!! From the first attack of the match, Caputo gives Sassuolo a surprise lead. Djuricic carries the ball forward and slots it through for the striker, who keeps his cool by tucking the ball away from Handanovic.
3' It has been a very stop-start opening few minutes at San Siro. Sanchez is the latest player to give away a needless free-kick.
2' Bastoni is clattered by Berardi in the opening 90 seconds and initially stays down. The defender soon gets back to his feet but does not look all that comfortable.
1' KICKOFF! Following a minute's silence to remember those who have lost their lives to coronavirus, Sassuolo get us up and running in Milan.
The teams are coming out onto the pitch at San Siro, with kick-off just moments away. This match will be played behind closed doors, as will every other Serie A game for the foreseeable future.
Inter have not beat Sassuolo at San Siro in four attempts since a 7-0 victory in September 2014, losing three and drawing one. Indeed, Inter have lost 54 per cent of their games against Sassuolo since their opponents' debut Serie A campaign in 2013-14 - only against Juventus (57 per cent) do they have a worse rate.
Sassuolo show seven changes from their heavy loss at the hands of Atalanta three days ago. The whole back four has been changed, with Muldur, Chiriches, Ferrari and Rogerio coming into the side. Magnani and Obiang replace Bourabia and Locatelli in holding midfield, meanwhile, and Djuricic is in for Defrel in attacking midfield.
Conte has made five changes to Inter's starting line-up on the back of their win over Sampdoria. Martinez was on the scoresheet in that match but drops down to the bench today, his place in attack taken by Sanchez. Elsewhere, Biraghi and Moses take over from Young and Candreva out wide, while Valero and Ranocchia come in for Barella and De Vrij.
Subs: Stefano Piccinini, Federico Peluso, Giangiacomo Magnani, Georgios Kyriakopoulos, Mehdi Bourabia, Giacomo Raspadori, Manuel Locatelli, Hamed Junior Traore, Alessandro Russo, Gregoire Defrel, Lukas Haraslin, Gianluca Pegolo.
SASSUOLO XI (4-2-3-1): Andrea Consigli; Mert Muldur, Vlad Chiriches, Gian Marco Ferrari, Rogerio; Francesco Magnanelli (c), Pedro Obiang; Domenico Berardi, Filip Djuricic, Jeremie Boga; Francesco Caputo.
Subs: Antonio Candreva, Daniele Padelli, Ashley Young, Sebastiano Esposito, Danilo D'Ambrosio, Stefan de Vrij, Kwadwo Asamoah, Lorenzo Pirola, Lucien Agoume, Diego Godin, Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella.
INTER XI (3-4-1-2): Samir Handanovic (c); Milan Skriniar, Andrea Ranocchia, Alessandro Bastoni; Victor Moses, Borja Valero, Roberto Gagliardini, Cristiano Biraghi; Christian Eriksen; Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez.
Sassuolo were in good form before the coronavirus-enforced hiatus but went down 4-1 to Atalanta on their return to top-flight action at the weekend. Roberto De Zerbi's side are 12th in the table and have little left to play for on the face of it.
Inter recovered from back-to-back losses prior to the three-month shutdown by seeing off Sampdoria 2-1 in their first league game back on Sunday. Antonio Conte's men are third in the table, nine points adrift of Juventus with this game in hand to play.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Serie A clash between Inter and Sassuolo at San Siro.
