The hosts got off to a flying start with a 4-0 win over South Korea but their clash with Martin Sjogren's side should see the defences lead the way

World Cup favourites France could barely have asked for a better start to their quest for a maiden tournament victory. A 4-0 win over South Korea made Corinne Diacre's side look every inch the team to beat this summer.

Tougher tests are to come though, starting with a clash against Norway in Nice on Wednesday.

Latest Odds

Les Bleues are 3/10 (1.30) with 888Sport to continue their winning start to the competition.

Despite running out 3-0 winners against Nigeria in their opening game, Norway are 9/1 (10.0) outsiders for this game while the draw is 22/5 (5.40).

Team News

Both coaches should have fully fit squads to pick from after straightforward wins on matchday one.

Wendie Renard struck twice against an overawed South Korea side on Friday. The 28-year-old defender is 7/2 (4.50) to find the net once more.

This will be a good test for both sides after dominating their previous games. France are riding a six-game winning streak, but they appear a little short at 3/10 (1.30) and it could pay to look elsewhere for value in the betting markets.

As tournament hosts, Les Bleues hadn't played a competitive game since the SheBelieves Cup in March 2018 before their opening victory and a Norway side ranked 12th in the world should provide stern resistance.

These sides should fill the automatic qualification places in Group A and it wouldn't be a surprise if there was a low-risk strategy employed by both managers given this is the toughest game on their respective schedules before the knockout stages get underway.

Games between these teams have often been cagey encounters. In fact, none of their previous seven head-to-head meetings have seen more than two goals scored.

While only two of those came in the last three years, goals are sometimes at a premium when France take on the better sides in women's football.

Diacre's side beat USA and Brazil 3-1 but also recorded low-scoring wins over Canada and Australia before their latest defeat to Germany, which came via a 1-0 scoreline.

In a high-pressure game which could go a long way towards deciding top spot in the group, opting for a low-scoring clash once more could pay dividends. Under 2.5 goals is available at Even money (2.0) with 888Sport and appears the best option for Wednesday's clash in Nice.
