Mark Hughes and his team were forced to settle for a point, although they will head into this contest with confidence on their side.

Marco Silva's men were twice ahead as Richarlison netted a brace on his debut, despite the dismissal of Phil Jagielka. However, a late goal from Raul Jimenez denied Everton the victory. Silva will be keen to get off the mark at Goodison Park in his first match at the ground to kickstart his side's season.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Everton and Southampton at Goodison Park.
