That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
This win moves Everton to within two points of Burnley and Leeds with a game in hand, so survival is in their own hands. They face Leicester next time out. Meanwhile Chelsea remain third, but have Tottenham and Arsenal hot on their heels, ahead of their next match against Wolves.
Everton clinch a huge win and three points in their fight for survival, with Richarlison’s goal at the start of the second half making the difference. The Toffees couldn’t have got the second period off to a better start, with Richarlison providing a composed finish in the 46th minute to lift the roof off Goodison. Chelsea pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but they came up against an inspired performance from Pickford in goal, who pulled off fantastic saves to deny Azpilicueta, Rudiger and Kovacic, to secure a 1-0 victory.
90' + 8' FULL-TIME: EVERTON 1-0 CHELSEA
M. Holgate
Yellow Card
90' + 6' Holgate has been booked for timewasting in stoppage time.
90' + 6' Everton are throwing everything at Chelsea, putting their bodies on the line to keep the visitors out of the final third.
D. Alli
D. Gray
90' + 4' Late change here by Everton, trying to waste time as Gray heads off and on comes Alli.
90' + 3' CHANCE! Pickford with another huge save to deny Chelsea! Kovacic plays a quick one-two with Alonso in the box and then tries to find the bottom left corner of the net, but Pickford gets a strong hand to it and makes the stop.
90' + 1' Everton can't believe the amount of time that has been added on here, can they hang on for the win and three vital points?
90' There will be a minimum of SEVEN minutes added time played at the end of the second half.
89' SAVE! Everton counter through Gordon down the left and he tries to beat Mendy from a tight angle, but the keeper makes a strong save at his near post.
87' As it stands, Everton will still be in the relegation zone, two points from safety, but they have a game in hand over Leeds and Burnley.
85' CHANCE! Gray with a huge opportunity to make it 2-0! It opens up nicely for him on the edge of the box as he gets away from Rudiger and he fires the ball towards the top right corner. However, he gets too much behind it and it flies just over the bar.
K. Havertz
Yellow Card
83' Havertz is booked after he shoves Mina out of frustration, who falls to the ground very dramatically.
81' Thiago Silva has a free header at the far post after a deep cross comes into the box, but it lacks pace to beat Pickford, who makes a comfortable save.
S. Rondón
Richarlison
80' Richarlison is unable to continue and he limps off the pitch, with Rondon his replacement.
79' SAVE! Loftus-Cheek skips past Allan and Doucoure, before powering an effort towards goal, but it's straight at Pickford, who has to punch it over the crossbar.
78' Ziyech delivers a superb free-kick delivery into the penalty area, but none of his Chelsea team-mates read it and don't latch onto the ball.
Marcos Alonso
Yellow Card
76' Alonso is shown a yellow card for dissent, after arguing a decision with the referee.
75' There is still plenty of time left for Chelsea to get back into this one, but they haven't tested the Everton goal since the series of Pickford saves earlier in the half.
73' Stoppage in play here as Richarlison is down and requires some treatment from the medical staff. The striker is going to try and run this off, but he doesn't look very comfortable.
Allan
F. Delph
71' Everton make their first change now, with Delph on a yellow card, so he makes way for Allan.
70' Everton have earned seven points from their last three home games (W2 D1), as many as they had in their previous 10 at Goodison Park (W2 D1 L7).
C. Pulisic
Azpilicueta
68' The other change sees Azpilicueta replaced by Pulisic. Thiago Silva takes the armband.
H. Ziyech
T. Werner
68' Double substitution coming up here by Chelsea, with Werner the first to come off and he has been replaced by Ziyech.
68' Decent chance! Havertz sneaks in between Mina and Coleman as a cross is whipped in by Azpilicueta, but the German international doesn't get enough accuracy on the effort and his header flies wide.
66' Decent effort! Rudiger tries his luck from distance, but he gets too much on the strike and sends it high over the crossbar, not troubling Pickford.
65' Everton are giving their all here, they are keeping Chelsea at bay and still look dangerous themselves at the other end.
63' PENALTY SHOUT! The home side appeal for a spot-kick after the ball flies up and strikes James high on the arm, but it looks to get his shoulder rather than his arm, so nothing is given.
62' Everton go on the counter-attack at the other end through Richarlison, who passes to Gray, but the winger is crowded out by a combination of Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva.
61' Wow that a hectic couple of minutes! There is a chance for everyone to get a breather now as Mykolenko is down with an injury and requires some treatment. However, he will be fine to continue.
60' ANOTHER SAVE! Pickford keeps Everton in the game with a terrific stop to deny Rudiger from close range, after a corner lands perfectly at his feet at the far post. Pickford made himself as big as possible and Rudiger could only fire the ball straight into the face of the keeper.
59' HUGE CHANCES! Havertz controls the ball in the box and lays it off to Mount, who drills a volley towards goal, but it strikes the post! The danger isn't over though as Azpilicueta picks it up on the right and seems to have an open goal to aim at. However, Pickford does brilliantly to get back and pulls off a superb save to deny Chelsea.
57' Everton have a good opportunity from a free-kick, but Gordon's delivery into the box has way too much pace on it and it flies straight out of play at the far post.
55' Everton have played the most Premier League games on Sundays without winning this season (9 – D1 L8), while Chelsea have played the most on the day without losing so far this term (9 – W6 D3).
53' It will be interesting to see how Everton approach the game now, as they need to try and not sit back and defend, as this will just invite the Chelsea pressure on them.
51' If Mykolenko had been able to score a second goal, it would have given Everton a cushion and a huge chance of claiming all three points.
49' CHANCE! Mykolenko should make it 2-0! Everton get in behind the Chelsea defence again and Doucoure flicks the ball to Mykolenko to his left and the wing-back only has Mendy to beat. However, the keeper rushes off his line and gets in his face, forcing the Everton man to send his effort wide of the post.
48' The noise is electric inside Goodison now following the Everton goal. The best possible start to the half by the hosts and Chelsea have to come from behind to get something out of this one.
D. Gray
Assist
46' Gray managed to hold off Azpilicueta as the Chelsea skipper tried to win the ball back and he sent it to Richarlison, who did the rest with a composed finish.
Richarlison
Goal
46' GOOOAAALLL! EVERTON TAKE THE LEAD! What a start to the second half for the home side and a huge goal by Richarlison! Azpilicueta takes too long in possession right on the edge of his own box and the Everton striker nicks it off him and Gray picks it up, who then flicks it back to his team-mate and Richarlison coolly slides the ball past Mendy and into the bottom right corner of the net. It’s 1-0!
46' The second half is under way!
M. Kovačić
Jorginho
46' Chelsea have made a change ahead of the second half, with Kovacic heading on and he replaces Jorginho.
Both teams could go on and win this one, but there needs to be an improvement in the final third if we are to see any goals. Everton's home form has been good since Lampard's arrival, so they will be confident of finding a way past Mendy.
It’s goalless at the break in this crucial game for Everton in their bid to stay up. They started the game quickly and tried to score an early goal, with Gordon having an opportunity from a set piece, but he couldn’t get his effort on target. Chelsea have grown into the match and have dominated possession but haven’t tested Pickford in the Toffees goal. However, a lot of credit must go to the Everton defence, who have been roared on by a great home backing and have kept the visitors at bay. As the half went on it started to get heated, with Coleman and Azpilicueta having to be separated at one point and there have been a few bookings.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: EVERTON 0-0 CHELSEA
F. Delph
Yellow Card
45' + 2' Delph is the latest player to be booked after sliding in on Mount and he catches the Chelsea man late.
45' + 1' The ball falls nicely to Doucoure on the edge of the box and he fires a volley towards goal, but Thiago Silva does brilliantly to make the block.
45' There will be a minimum of two minutes added time played at the end of the first half.
44' Everton are trying to get on the ball a bit more as we approach half-time, they've defended really well in this first half and haven't given Chelsea much space in the final third.
42' Richarlison takes on Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva inside the box and works a little bit of space for a shot at goal from a tight angle, but his effort is off target.
40' There isn’t long left to play before the end of the first half, can either side break the deadlock before the half-time whistle?
S. Coleman
Yellow Card
38' Coleman is also booked by the referee following the argument with the Chelsea captain.
Azpilicueta
Yellow Card
38' Azpilicueta and Coleman just wouldn't let the argument go and square up to each other, they have to be separated by their team-mates. The Chelsea skipper is booked for his part in the altercation.
37' Both sets of players are angry with Mount's foul on Mina, so the two captains barge in and have words which gets a bit heated. A few players have to pull them apart and it gets a bit silly. It looks like there will be a few more bookings on the way.
M. Mount
Yellow Card
36' Mount drags Mina to the ground and then barges into him on the halfway line, so he is shown a yellow card.
33' CHANCE! Gordon has looked lively throughout today and he cuts inside from the right wing and fires a low effort towards the bottom right corner of the net. However, it flies inches past the post.
32' Doucoure does well to nick the ball off Rudiger and he gets to the byline and drills a low cross into the box, but Thiago Silva does well to read it and clears the danger.
30' We’re at the half an hour mark now and it remains goalless between Everton and Chelsea, with the visitors on top, but yet to create anything in the final third to test Pickford.
28' Delph is lucky to get away with just a warning after he dives into the back of Jorginho and hacks the midfielder down. That should have been a yellow card.
27' The referee has to pause the game for a brief moment to talk to Mina and Havertz after the pair after a small confrontation in the Everton penalty area.
25' Everton have everyone back behind the ball at the moment in their own half as they soak up the Chelsea pressure, who aren't whizzing it around the pitch with much intensity.
23' This is the first time Everton are playing a Premier League game when starting the day in the relegation zone since December 2019 – a 3-1 home win against Chelsea.
21' We're yet to see a goalscoring chance by either side just yet, with Everton now looking to try and catch Chelsea out on the counter when they get on the ball, as the visitors are keeping the ball well.
19' It's getting a bit heated out there, a few tackles are flying in from the Everton players and they just need to be careful that they don't lose their heads and let the pressure get to them.
A. Rüdiger
Yellow Card
17' Rudiger is shown the first yellow card of the game after he dives into a challenge with Coleman and gets nowhere near the ball.
16' Decent chance! Pickford gets a counter going quickly and Everton work the ball to Gray in behind the Chelsea defence, who forces Mendy into making a save. However, the flag goes up for offside, so it wouldn't have counted anyway.
15' James is causing a few problems for Everton down the right wing, he's playing so high up the pitch and linking up well with Mount.
13' Chelsea are trying to slow the pace of the game down when they can, to try and subdue the home crowd. The visitors have controlled possession for the most part in the last few minutes.
11' PENALTY SHOUT! A deep cross comes into the box from Iwobi and Mina battles for the ball with Azpilicueta, with the Everton defender throwing himself to the ground. However, it was very soft and the referee waves away the appeals.
10' Everton have won each of their last three Premier League home games against Chelsea, last winning four consecutively against them at Goodison Park between 1970 and 1973.
8' Good effort! Chelsea work the ball in the final third as Everton struggle to clear their lines and the ball comes to Mount, who fires a looping strike towards goal. However, it has too much power on it and flies just over the bar.
6' Everton are started the game well, trying to play quick football and score an early goal. Chelsea are yet to get going and are soaking up the hosts pressure at the moment.
4' The home supporters are making a huge amount of noise inside Goodison, urging their side forward in this crucial fixture in their bid to stay up.
2' Decent chance! Gordon steps up to take a free-kick just outside the box and he aims for the top right corner of the net, but he gets too much on it and the ball flies well wide.
1' Everton go on the attack straight away and win a free-kick right on the edge of the penalty area, with Loftus-Cheek sticking out a leg and bringing Gordon down. Excellent shooting opportunity from the set piece.
1' We're under way!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick-off is just a few minutes away, stay tuned for all the match action!
