Stade de la Mosson

Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Cameroon will face either England or France in the last 16 of the Women's World Cup next week, while New Zealand board a long flight home.
Cameroon advance to the last 16 of the Women's World Cup courtesy of Ajara Nchout's goal at the death. An own goal from Aurelle Awona looked to have condemned her side to a premature exit from the competition, cancelling out Nchout's opener. However, Cameroon flooded players forward in the dying seconds. Nchout produced the moment of brilliance required, weaving her way past New Zealand defenders before firing her effort past Erin Nayler into the bottom corner. Alain Djeumfa's side were the better team this afternoon and deserve their place in the next round of the competition, which is secured thanks to their win along with their good disciplinary record. New Zealand didn't have enough in the contest, and although they will be disappointed to lose in that manner, they didn't deserve to continue at the expense of Cameroon.
G. Onguéné
90' + 5' Onguene offloads to Nchout on the edge of the box before the midfielder does the rest with a super goal.
A. Nchout

Cameroon win the match with the last kick of the game, and it could be enough to send them through to the last 16 of the World Cup.

A huge goal and one that could knock Cameroon out of the tournament.

She cuts back on to her left foot to open up room for a strike. Nayler makes the block with her body, but the loose ball bounces back out. Onguene tries again, only to be denied again by the New Zealand keeper. Takounda is the next player to try her luck, but Nayler gets down to make a reaction stop. Abam has the final chance, although she places her strike into the side-netting.
63' CHANCE! Gregorius heads towards goal with a diving attempt from Riley's cross. The forward does well to pull back into space, but she can only direct her effort wide of the target. That was a chance for the Football Ferns.

Both managers will be looking at the options on their benches for answers. Cameroon have had their moments through Onguene, while the pace of Michaela Abam has also been a threat. New Zealand have built through Olivia Chance, but other than the winger the rest of the forward line has been quiet.
It's goalless at the break between Cameroon and New Zealand in this Group E Women's World Cup clash. It's a scoreline that favours neither side as they both need to win to advance to the last 16 of the tournament. At the other end the Football Ferns have played decent football, but have not been able to force the issue. It has to change in the second half or both sides are heading out.

33' New Zealand are struggling for penetration in the final third. They've not been able to take control of the game.

15' Cameroon win a corner down the right that is cleared out as far as Leuko. She goes for an ambitious effort from 35 yards, smashing the ball well wide of the target.
14' Cameroon have made a bright start to the game and are edging the battles on the pitch at the moment. Nchout in particular has been effective in the early stages.

3' Gregorius runs at Awona down the left flank, but the Cameroon defender makes a well-timed challenge.
2' Abam stretches her legs down the right flank, but she just cannot reach a ball over the top as it travels out for a goal-kick
1' We're underway in this Women's World Cup clash.
Defeat for New Zealand would see them become the first team to lose all three of their group stage games at the Women’s World Cup in three separate tournaments (also in 1991 and 2007).
The Football Ferns have made two changes to their side that was beaten by Canada. Duncan comes into the midfield to replace Hassett and Green replaces C.J Bott, who is ruled out with a fractured wrist.
Alain Djeumfa has made three changes to his team that was beaten 3-1 by Netherlands last time out. Ejangue and Awona come into the back five, while Nchout slots into the midfield to replace Ngo Mbeleck.

New Zealand are in the same position as their opponents this afternoon. The Football Ferns suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Netherlands in their opener as Jill Roord found the net in stoppage time. Tom Sermanni's team were then outplayed by Canada in their second contest, slumping to a 2-0 loss in Grenoble. New Zealand need a response to secure a passage through to the next round of the competition.
Cameroon are in battle to keep their World Cup hopes alive after suffering back-to-back defeats in their opening two matches. They lost 2-0 at the hands of Canada in their opener in Montpellier, while a brace from Vivianne Miedema condemned them to a 3-1 loss against Netherlands, despite a strike from Gabrielle Onguene. Cameroon's only hope is to win this afternoon and hope it's good enough to secure one of the best third-place finishes.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Women's World Cup Group E clash between Cameroon and New Zealand at the Stade de la Mosson.
