Commentary

That's all from us, we'll see you for the next game. Until then, goodbye!
Barca's 4-0 win sends them to the top of La Liga's table on 13 points, one ahead of Real Madrid. This could be brief, with Los Blancos yet to play, but a fight for the title looks to be well and truly underway. At the other end of the table, Cadiz remain bottom, still winless, pointless and goalless, and with a difference of -14, it's going to be a long season for the Andalusian side.
De Jong was at the heart of everything Barca did well in attack, and his goal opened the scoring after the Blaugrana had been frustrated in the first 54 minutes. He had two shots on target from two attempts, and maintained a passing accuracy of 94 per cent. 21 of these came in the final third, one of which created a big chance. He won possession six times, once in Cadiz's defensive third, and connected defence to attack all game long.
After a lengthy delay to the action in the second half - following a medical emergency in the crowd - Barca pressed on to double their 2-0 lead after the restart and seal a resounding victory. Lewandowski's introduction straight after De Jong's opener saw him score almost straight away, and set up two as the game approached its end. It's a result that will be overshadowed by the medical incident in the crowd, but still one which showed Barcelona are back to their best.
90' + 58' FULL-TIME: CADIZ 0-4 BARCELONA.
R. Lewandowski
Assist
Barcelona
90' + 57' Lewandowski gets his second assist in two minutes, and the creative value the veteran striker brings to this side is unrivalled.
O. Dembélé
Goal
Barcelona
90' + 57' GOOOAAALLL!!! And another!!! Dembele strides towards the box, before deceiving Mbaye, shooting on his right and towards the bottom corner. Ledesma can't keep it out, pushing the ball onto the post, from which it bounces into the opposite corner of the net to make it 4-0 on 92 minutes!!!
90' + 55' As 90 minutes of normal time passes, we're indicated there'll be three more before full-time.
90' + 54' Araujo finds Fati on the run with a good cross-field pass, but the substitute is flagged for offside and play is brought back.
90' + 52' De Jong looks to pass inside, but is caught late by Ocampo and wins a free-kick, as Barca allow the clock to tick down.
R. Lewandowski
Assist
Barcelona
90' + 50' The work there from Lewandowski was simply superb, and he very unselfishly put it on a place for Fati to slot home!
Ansu Fati
Goal
Barcelona
90' + 50' GOOOAAAALLLL!!! That'll seal it!!! A long ball through to Lewandowski gives the striker the chance to shoot, but Zaldua is all over him. He can't shoot, but can pass, and Lewandowski tees up Fati to slot home Barca's third, making it 3-0 on 86 minutes!
90' + 49' OVER!!! Alcaraz steps up for a free-kick 30 yards from goal, but his dipping effort is too high and flies over the bar!
90' + 48' A ball over the top looks to have put Alcaraz into space, but Bellerin gets across to win possession back for Barca.
90' + 46' We're finally back underway on 82 minutes for the final nine (at least) minutes of this game!
90' + 44' The stadium waits patiently for the warm-up period to be over, and that should hopefully be within the next few minutes.
90' + 42' We're just minutes away from the restart here, and perhaps Ledesma's heroic act could inspire Cadiz to mount an unlikely comeback!
90' + 40' Kick-off won't take place for another few minutes, as both sides get back up to speed for the last few moments of the match.
90' + 38' Quick warm-ups take place for both sides, necessary given the near 40-minute break they've had since played was stopped on 82 minutes.
90' + 36' Here come the players! Both sets of players return to the pitch, and we should be back underway before too long!
90' + 34' We're still waiting on how long it'll be to see the players again, and as time continues we wonder if we will at all.
90' + 32' The fans are still here in solitude, with the home fans standing strong and waiting to see their players again, despite being two goals down.
90' + 30' A round of applause echoes around the stadium, but we're yet to see if that'll mean we're re-introduced to the players.
90' + 28' The stadium is still silent, with only a few Cadiz subs out on the pitch, and the remaining players still in the stadium.
90' + 26' The victim of that medical emergency appears to have been moved safely from the stands, so it remains to be seen how soon we'll see the players re-emerge.
90' + 24' We're still waiting on any updates to see if and when the game will resume.
90' + 22' Still no sign of the players, and we're wondering if and when the last few minutes will take place, if at all.
90' + 20' A stretcher is rushed to the area of seats where the medical issue has taken place, suggesting the victim is ready to be taken to hospital.
90' + 18' We're still waiting for an update, and the last nine minutes of this game are still waiting to be played.
90' + 16' Some subs for the home side are still on the sideline, but the rest are back in the dressing rooms await news on when this medical issue will be resolved.
90' + 14' The stadium sits silent and still, with no-one on the pitch now and the players nowhere to be seen. Sobrino sits on the sideline alone, and we don't quite know why it's only him currently.
90' + 12' The players are being brought inside after 20 minutes of idle waiting at pitchside, and it remains to be seen when they'll re-emerge to play the last few minutes of the game.
90' + 10' Into minute 100 of this game, and we're still no closer to know when the last nine minutes (at least) will be played out.
90' + 8' The players are still out on the pitch, they too wait anxiously for news play can resume. It's been roughly 17 minutes since the game was stopped, and since then we've been waiting for the medical issue to be resolved.
90' + 6' Still no action on the pitch, as the 19,000 fans inside the stadium wait anxiously for the medical issue to be resolved and the victim to be okay.
90' + 4' We're still waiting, and hopefully should soon know when the last nine or so minutes of the game will be played.
90' + 2' The crowd waits patiently as the medical teams attempt to resolve the issue, with no clues yet as to when play will be able to resume.
90' We're past the 90, but the injury time board won't be up yet until we know how long this apparent medical issue is going to continue for.
88' Ledesma and Gill were carrying a defibrillator to the stand, following an apparent medical issue in the crowd.
86' It's likely a medical incident somewhere behind the hosts' goal, as Cadiz's substitute goalkeeper David Gil has just run onto the field with what appears to be a first aid kit, and given it to someone in that stand.
84' Play is still yet to resume, and whatever incident has occurred in the stands still hasn't been resolved. We're set for a lengthy period of injury time here, as the clock keeps on ticking.
82' Play is halted suddenly, with the referee heading to the sideline to alert others about something that appears to be in the crowd, but what that something is remains unknown for now.
80' Dembele cuts inside from the right and whips a cross towards the far post. Fati is the target, but Ledesma races out to claim it and catches the aerial ball.
Marcos Alonso
Alejandro Balde
Barcelona
78' As Balde hobbles off over the sideline having picked up a knock, he's replaced by Marcos Alonso, another full-back making his debut for Barcelona.
76' The players again head for the sideline, as the second half's allotted cooling break takes place.
74' Ocampo looks to latch onto a through pass, but catches Busquets on the follow through and sends the Barca captain flying!
73' OVER!!! Alcaraz is straight into the thick of it, latching onto Bongonda's corner and sending a looping header just over the top of the bar!
Ansu Fati
Raphinha
Barcelona
72' Raphinha is the last of Barca's starting front three to come off, with that saved effort being his last action before he's replaced by Ansu Fati.
Rubén Alcaraz
Fede
Cádiz
72' San Emeterio is also withdrawn, replaced in midfield by Ruben Alcaraz.
A. Mabil
Lucas Pérez
Cádiz
72' Perez has been feeding off scraps for most of the game, and comes off now for Australian international Awer Mabil.
Álvaro Negredo
Sobrino
Cádiz
72' Cadiz make a triple alteration, with Sobrino coming off for Alvaro Negredo in the first of those.
71' SAVED!!! Dembele finds Raphinha on the right, and his shot is blocked off Mbaye. It finds Dembele, who tees up Raphinha again, and his first-time effort towards the bottom corner is well held by Ledesma!
69' Xavi has not lost any of his 16 away league games as Barcelona manager, winning 11, one away from equalling the best unbeaten start away from home by a manager in La Liga history. He's currently on course to equal that record, achieved by Zinedine Zidane with Real Madrid in 2016.
67' OVER!!! Dembele's huge cross-field pass is kept in play expertly by Raphinha, who skilfully beats Ocampo before firing over the bar on his left foot!!!
R. Lewandowski
Goal
Barcelona
65' GOOOAAAALLLL!!!! There's the second!!! A fast break by the visitors sees Bellerin put Raphinha into acres of space, and he crosses to the front post. De Jong comes for it, as does Ledesma and two defenders, and the ensuing scramble sees the ball pop up for Lewandowski to slide in and tuck away to make it 2-0!!! Six goals in five La Liga games for Lewandowski, and Barca have really hit their stride!!
64' Lewandowski has scored five goals in four games for Barcelona in La Liga and, should he score in this game, will equal the best goalscoring start by a player in the competition in the 21st century, achieved by André Silva for Sevilla in 2018 (six goals in six games).
63' OVER!!! Pedri's attempt to find Raphinha with an aerial pass in the box sees the cross back in half-cleared, and Busquets arrives on the edge of the box to smash a first-time effort over the bar!
62' Pique concedes a corner, but the opportunity is wasted as Sobrino blasts the cross straight into the side netting!
T. Bongonda
Iván Alejo
Cádiz
60' Alejo has arguably been Los Piratas' standout player, but he's withdrawn now for substitute Theo Bongonda.
T. Alarcón
Álex Fernández
Cádiz
59' Fernandez's game comes to an end in Cadiz's first change, and Tomas Alarcon takes his place in midfield.
Pedri
Gavi
Barcelona
57' Having set up that goal, Gavi comes off, with the La Masia product replaced by a fellow teenage sensation in midfielder Pedri.
O. Dembélé
Ferran Torres
Barcelona
57' Torres also comes off, and it's a fairly like-for-like replaced in Ousmane Dembele who replaces him.
Piqué
Yellow Card
Barcelona
56' Yellow Card Gerard Piqué Bernabéu
Lucas Pérez
Yellow Card
Cádiz
56' Yellow Card Lucas Pérez Martínez
Substitution
56' Having taken the lead, Xavi clearly wants his side to turn the screw, and so brings on Robert Lewandowski to replace Depay.
F. de Jong
Goal
Barcelona
55' GOOOOAAAALLLL!!! Barca finally get the breakthrough!!! Raphinha spots Gavi's underlapping run and finds him with a brilliant throughball, and despite Gavi's cut-back being pushed away by Ledesma, De Jong arrives late to stroke the ball home and put the Blaugrana 1-0 up!!! It's taken a while, but Barca finally break down the resolute Cadiz defence and lead deservedly.
54' OVER!!! Pique's downward header away from the crossed-in free-kick only finds San Emeterio, who blasts a half-volley over from the penalty spot!
Sergio Busquets
Yellow Card
Barcelona
53' After Depay's cross is cleared by Mbaye, Cadiz clear and Alejo races down the right. He knocks the ball past Busquets, but is clipped on his way through, which warrants a foul and a yellow card for the Barcelona captain.
52' Raphinha gets past Sobrino and skids down the goal-line towards Ledesma. San Emeterio slides in to dispossess him, but concedes a corner in the process!
51' Cadiz have failed to score with all of their 32 shots in La Liga in 2022-23, making them the only team yet to score in Europe's big five leagues this season, as well as having the fewest shots on target of any side (seven).
49' De Jong strides through midfield before playing a one-two with Depay. Upon getting the ball back, De Jong looks to shoot, but he can only muster a poor chip to the far corner which Ledesma easily catches!
47' Barca struggle to deal with Alejo's cross, and Araujo's clearance comes straight back to the Cadiz winger. He crosses again, and a weak punch from Ter Stegen gives the Blaugrana defence some breathing room!
46' Depay kicks off, and we're back underway for the second half!
The teams return to the pitch, and can Barcelona make their dominance count in the second half?
Torres went close for Barca several times in the first 45 for Barca, and occasionally looked like he had the freedom of Andalusia down that left-hand side. He managed a shot on target from two attempts and six touches in the box. He engaged in nine duels, winning three of his six dribbles, and also won a free-kick, despite losing the ball 11 times. Craftsman.
The half-time whistle blows, with the home side having done very well to keep Barcelona at bay so far. The Blaugrana have had the majority of possession and chances, albeit none of which have really stretched Ledesma. They'll definitely want to improve in the final third in the second half though, and will also be aiming to prevent Cadiz from countering, which the hosts looked fairly impressive at early on in the contest.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: CADIZ 0-0 BARCELONA.
45' + 3' OVER!!! Barca counter through Raphinha, who skips clear before finding support. De Jong plays it out to Torres, who cuts inside and whips a curling shot towards the top corner, that just misses the target by a whisker!
45' + 1' SAVED!!! The corner is played out to Depay, who curls the ball into the box. It's heading for the far corner of the net, forcing Ledesma in a diving save to tip it away!
45' + 1' We're into three minutes of added time to close out the first half.
45' Torres escapes his marker and skips down the byline before cutting the ball back. Busquets sees the ball blocked before he can shoot, but a deflected clearance sees the hosts concede a corner!
44' SAVED!!! Zaldua can't clear a Depay pass properly and Busquets finds Depay with the return. He shoots from close range, but doesn't generate enough power to test Ledesma and he saves it!
42' Gavi and San Emeterio collide in midfield with an almighty thump, and both players are still down as the referee gives the free-kick Cadiz's way.
40' Cadiz have taken points in each of their last four matches against Barcelona in La Liga, with their total of eight just one fewer than in their other 24 meetings with the Blaugrana in the league
38' Raphinha's ball across the edge of the box is missed by both Torres and Depay before Balde recovers it. He looks to get around Alejo, but goes down under pressure in the box to no avail!
37' No side has faced fewer shots than Barcelona in La Liga this season, with just 31. It is also their second-best tally after their opening four games to a LaLiga season in the last 11 campaigns (faced 25 in 2018-19).
35' WIDE!!! The corner sees Bellerin float a cross into the box from deep, and Araujo gets his head to it. He cushions it across for Depay to strike, but he can only hit his effort wide of the post!
35' Pique dispossesses Sobrino in a manner the crowd aren't happy with, and Barca play on, spreading it wide to Raphinha who heads towards the box and wins a corner.
33' Play halts following an attempted header from Mbaye at a Cadiz corner, as both teams head to the sidelines for a quick cooling break.
31' A loose pass from De Jong almost grants Cadiz an opportunity as Ocampo races away with the ball, but he's dispossessed strongly by Araujo as he cuts inside and Barca get their own chance to break!
29' Barcelona have failed to score in their last two games against Cadiz in La Liga, as many times as in their previous 26 meetings against them in the competition.
27' A wayward Araujo header almost lets Sobrino through on goal, but Pique steps in to retain possession and keep things moving for Barca.
25' Raphinha latches onto Bellerin's chipped pass and blasts a volley across the face of goal, but Torres can't quite reach the back post in time and the cross comes to nothing.
23' Espino tussles for the ball with his opposite full-back Bellerin near the Barca corner flag, and eventually wins that duel to gain his side their second corner of the match.
22' OVER!!! Balde whips a fantastic ball into the box looking for Depay, but it's headed away by Hernandez. It bounces towards Raphinha, who mis-cues a half-volley and blazes the ball over the bar!
21' Zaldua surges down the right for the hosts, but is dragged down by Torres as he approaches the box. Play on, says the referee, but he eventually pulls play back for the free-kick just as Balde looks to counter.
19' Gavi gets the run on Mbaye and looks to cross for Raphinha, but his cut back is put behind by the Cadiz defender for a Blaugrana corner.
18' Perez is only just up on his feet after receiving treatment, but is okay to carry on and play continues.
Raphinha
Yellow Card
Barcelona
16' Perez looks to advance over halfway on the counter for Cadiz, but he's clipped late by Raphinha and goes down. A textbook free-kick for the hosts, and the Brazil winger is shown a yellow card by the referee.
15' Bellerin, making his Barcelona debut, and Raphinha look to play a one-two down the right, but the latter's dummy for his full-back forces him to stretch for the loose ball and foul Espino in the process.
13' Alejo's playing as a makeshift right-back at the moment, with the constant movement and overlapping of Torres and Balde down that side of the field forcing him further and further back into defence.
12' Barcelona are unbeaten so far this season, dropping just two points and conceding only once. Only in 2014-15, when the Blaugrana didn't concede in any of their first eight games, have they conceded fewer goals after the opening five games of a season this century.
10' WIDE!!!! Barca have their first real chance after Gavi glides through midfield before feeding Raphinha. His strike smashes off the base of the post, before finding Torres on the opposite side of the box. He aims for the same corner, with his low shot beating Ledesma before streaking just wide of the target!!
9' A long ball over the top looks for the run of Sobrino, but Pique is back for Barca and keeps the ball, with his clearance blocked by the Cadiz number seven and the ball goes out for a goal kick.
7' Cadiz have lost all four of their games this season, failing to score in all four, and suffering their worst ever start after the opening four games of a top-flight season. Moreover, only between January and February 1990 have the Andalusian side suffered more consecutive defeats without scoring in the competition (six).
5' CHANCE!!!! Depay dribbles forward and into the box, somehow keeping the ball despite having five yellow shirts surrounding him. He releases De Jong, whose pass is blocked, and a follow-up volley from the striker is held by Ledesma!
4' No team has won and scored more goals against Cadiz than Barcelona in the history of La Liga (19 wins and 59 goals, the exact same as Real Madrid).
2' BLOCKED!!! After breaking up a Barcelona counter from their corner, Cadiz fly back forward and Alejo crosses into the box. It's hooked away by Pique, but only as far as Sobrino, whose shot across the face of goal is cut out by Araujo!
1' The hosts kick-off via the boot of Perez, and we're underway in Southern Spain!
The players are out on the pitch, and kick-off is just moments away!
Robert Lewandowski bagged a Champions League hat-trick in midweek, but is on the bench for this game with Memphis Depay preferred up front. Raphinha scored the opener in their 3-0 league win over Valencia last time out, and starts once more from the right, with Ferran Torres, who scored Barca’s fifth against Viktoria Plzen, completing the front three.
Cadiz’s four losses have seen them score zero goals and concede 10 at the other end, and manager Sergio Gonzalez makes several alterations in attacking positions after a 3-0 loss at Celta; switching from 4-1-4-1 to 4-2-3-1 and bringing Lucas Perez, Alex Fernandez and Ruben Sobrino into the starting XI.
BARCELONA SUBS: Inaki Pena, Arnau Tenas, Ousmane Dembele, Pedri, Robert Lewandowski, Ansu Fati, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso, Jordi Alba, Franck Kessie, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia.
BARCELONA (4-3-3): Marc-Andre Ter Stegen; Hector Bellerin, Ronaldo Araujo, Gerard Pique, Alejandro Balde; Frenkie De Jong, Sergio Busquets, Pablo Gavi; Raphinha, Memphis Depay, Ferran Torres.
CADIZ SUBS: David Gil, Fali, Ruben Alcaraz, Jose Mari, Theo Bongonda, Tomas Alarcon, Awer Mabil, Alvaro Negredo, Alvaro Gimenez, Isaac Carcelen, Santiago Azramendia, Victor Chust.
CADIZ (4-2-3-1): Jeremaias Ledesma; Joseba Zaldua, Luis Hernandez, Momo Mbaye, Alfonso Espino; Alex Fernandez, Fede San Emeterio; Ivan Alejo, Ruben Sobrino, Brian Ocampo; Lucas Perez.
The Blaugrana, however, sit second, behind leaders Real Madrid on 10 points having won three and drawn one of their four games. They’ll fancy themselves to add a fifth straight loss to Cadiz’s record, and a win would take them above Los Blancos by a point.
20th placed Cadiz are the only side yet to gain a point in La Liga this season, with Los Piratas losing all four of their games so far without scoring a single goal.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this La Liga fixture, as Cadiz take on Barcelona at Neuvo Mirandilla stadium.
