1 - 2
R. Henry (60)
M. Normann (6)
T. Pukki (29 pen)
Brentford Community Stadium

The Canaries finally show signs of flight then, while the Bees aren't buzzing at the moment. Analogies aside, it's a big win for Norwich. Just how big remains to be seen until the end of the season. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Brentford have lost four league games in a row for the first time since September 2016. They're still fairly safe in 14th place but the Bees need results to pick up again fast if they want to avoid getting into trouble. Norwich rise to 19th, a point above Newcastle United who play later. They're still five points from safety with a very poor goal difference, but at least they now have a lifeline.
Norwich have won their first Premier League game of the season! It was a hard-fought victory for the Canaries too, who ultimately did the damage in the first half with Pukki's penalty proving to be the winner. Brentford put their visitors under real pressure, especially in the second half when they pulled a goal back through Henry, but Farke's men dug in to claim a valuable three points.
90' + 7' Brentford have one more chance to put the ball into Norwich's box as Giannoulis stops Ghoddos near the halfway line. Jensen floats it in and Toney again takes a tumble in the box, claiming a push. The referee doesn't buy it, Krul takes the goal-kick and that's it!
90' + 6' Norwich get a decent opportunity to put the game to bed. Sargent intercepts Pinnock's ball forward and sends Idah scampering down the right. The Irishman cuts the ball back for McLean who forces a routine save from Fernandez.
A. Idah
M. Rashica
Norwich City
90' + 5' Norwich make a late substitution. Idah replaces Rashica up front.
90' + 4' Rashica briefly looks like countering down the left but Pinnock gets across to win the ball and send Brentford forward again. Goode gets time to shoot from the left of the box but can't keep his effort down! That might be Brentford's last chance.
90' + 2' Norwich are preparing Rupp and Idah to come on. Brentford want a penalty as Toney goes down in the box from a push from Giannoulis. It's a soft appeal though and the referee agrees.
M. Aarons
Yellow Card
Norwich City
90' Brentford squander their latest venture into the final third. Aarons is booked for time-wasting.
90' Brentford have six more minutes in which to try to find a goal. Norwich have everyone back defending now.
88' Canos misses a great opportunity to score! The former Norwich man dashes towards the far post to reach Mbeumo's cross. It's almost a carbon copy of Henry's goal for Brentford. This time, though, Canos hits the side netting as Krul rushes across to close the angle.
86' Norwich try to take the sting out of the game by passing the ball around. It's a dangerous play though as Brentford intercept, Pinnock lifts a high cross into the box and Toney unfairly challenges Krul for it, conceding a foul.
84' Norwich are still getting half-chances on the break. Rashica fires a tame effort straight at Fernandez from just outside the box.
82' Brentford continue to push for an equaliser as Aarons blocks Canos' shot from the left of the box. The atmosphere is getting increasingly tense.
81' Chance for Norwich! Giannoulis rolls a teasing low cross across the face of goal and Sargent charges into the six-yard box to get on the end of it. Brentford get a foot to it at the vital moment and Fernandez comes away with the ball.
80' Rashica points to his knee as the physios give him some treatment. The Kosovan has a slight limp but looks OK as he briefly leaves the pitch.
79' Rashica is the latest Norwich player to stay down as he's caught by Goode. Sargent earns Norwich a free-kick down their right as he's stopped by Norgaard.
J. Sargent
T. Pukki
Norwich City
78' Norwich make another change. Pukki heads off. The American Sargent replaces him up front.
76' Jensen's corner comes in and Canos' volley from the edge of the box is caught by Krul.
75' Pinnock fires a delicious curling ball in behind Norwich's defence from the left and Giannoulis hooks it out for a Brentford corner. Pukki gets a teammate's help with cramp before getting back to his feet. Norwich are taking liberties with time, that's for sure.
D. Giannoulis
K. Dowell
Norwich City
74' Norwich make their first substitution. Giannoulis replaces Dowell. It looks like Norwich are changing to a 3-5-2.
72' Normann complains of an issue with his hand, sitting down on the pitch to boos from the home support. The referee trots over and tells the Norwegian to head off while it's looked at.
71' Ghannos, who's moved to the left, takes a touch inside and curls the ball towards the box. Gibson wins the header. Ghannos tries the same trick again seconds later and this time Krul claims it.
M. Forss
R. Henry
69' Here's Brentford's latest change. Their goalscorer Henry goes off. Their Finnish forward Forss comes on.
68' Canos picks up Henry's cross at the far post and cuts inside to shoot, drawing a snap save from Krul. Norwich are eventually awarded a free-kick as Norgaard trips Lees-Melou, easing the pressure on them briefly.
67' Jensen takes the free-kick short and Brentford promptly achieve nothing with it. There's a bit of a back-and-forth in midfield as Brentford launch another attack and Norwich stay primed to counter.
65' Lees-Melou goes up against Norgaard and brings the Dane down. Brentford will get a free-kick in a central position. They're preparing another substitution too.
63' Norwich are first to this latest Brentford corner and Aarons hacks clear. Normann stays down after being hauled to the turf.
62' Aarons blocks Pinnock's ball in and Brentford get another corner, welcomed by a roar from the home fans. The Bees are in the ascendancy.
61' Rashica fires an effort towards goal from outside the area. Fernandez makes a routine save down to his right to stop it finding the bottom left corner.
S. Ghoddos
60' Ghoddos' introduction has definitely helped Brentford. Norwich are being increasingly stretched.
R. Henry
60' GOAL! BRENTFORD 1-2 NORWICH CITY! Ghoddos' great cross from the right sails over everyone in Norwich yellow and lands to Henry at the far post. All Henry has to do is steer the ball into the open net.
58' Jensen picks out Henry down Brentford's left who gets past Aarons and fizzes the ball across goal. Norwich intercept the cross and clear it.
56' Krul makes a fantastic save to deny Norgaard for a second time! Brentford win a corner down their left which they swing into the box. Goode's header lands to Norgaard again at the far post and Krul makes himself big to stop the Dane's shot! He saves Jansson's header soon after.
54' Rashica wins a free-kick down Norwich's left as he's stopped by Norgaard. The momentum is definitely swinging in Brentford's direction but they haven't been able to make the most of it yet.
A. Omobamidele
Yellow Card
Norwich City
52' Omobamidele barges into Ghoddos and gives away a free-kick. The Irishman is also shown the yellow card.
51' Normann fires high and wide from distance. He gave Norwich the lead and is still causing Brentford problems.
50' Brentford have a goal ruled out for offside. Toney wins a flick on in the air, taking both of Norwich's centre-backs out of the game, and Mbeumo races into the space behind. Aarons can't bring him down so the Frenchman dribbles into the box and slots past Krul. The flag eventually goes up. VAR confirms the decision.
48' Norwich nearly make it 3-0! Williams then darts forward down the left and spots Pukki to his right. The Finn drags his shot back across goal and just wide of the left-hand post.
47' Pukki darts down the inside-right channel to get into the box and wins a corner for Norwich. Brentford clear it without too much bother, blocking Lees-Melou's shot.
46' Brentford get the second half going. We'll have to see how Ghoddos' introduction affects them.
S. Ghoddos
V. Janelt
46' Brentford make an offensive change at half-time. Janelt makes way for Ghoddos.
Brentford had nine shots to Norwich's three in the first half along with the lion's share of possession but they haven't been able to break Norwich down. All three of Norwich's shots have been on target and they've scored twice. You wouldn't blame Farke and his men for being content with just seeing the win out now.
Who saw this coming?! Norwich are two goals to the good at the break after a clinical first half. The Canaries have worked hard and have taken the chances that have come to them. Brentford have had a few chances, particularly Norgaard's close-range effort which Krul blocked, but largely they've been blunt so far.
45' + 3' Norwich aren't happy as Pukki's left down on the turf. Mbeumo clips Williams and the visitors eventually get their free-kick.
45' + 2' Brentford take far too long to play out of their own half, attracting grumbles from the crowd. Krul punches Canos' cross away.
45' Rashica gets flagged offside as he latches onto Dowell's throughball. There'll be three minutes added on in this half.
44' Norwich probe for a while, waiting for the next opportunity to stretch Brentford's back line. Farke is stony-faced in the technical area but he must be pleased with how this half has gone for his side.
42' Williams shows some quick feet to reach the byline and pass out wide to Rashica. Rashica frees Pukki in the box but the Finn can't get a clear sight of goal. Brentford try to push forward but Krul plucks the bouncing ball from the air.
40' Krul slides out of his goal to sweep up with Mbeumo lurking in the box. Norwich are looking highly motivated and solid.
39' Canos tries to get past Williams but Rashica drops back to help his teammate out. Norwich end up being awarded the throw-in.
37' Mbeumo wins a free-kick in his own half as he's impeded by Lees-Melou. Brentford haven't been able to establish any sort of rhythm yet.
36' Williams powers into Brentford's box from left-back and has no options so passes back to Lees-Melou. Norwich keep the ball moving and Aarons wins a throw-in down their right.
34' Brentford are looking curiously blunt in front of goal. The Bees win a corner down their right and Norwich block Toney's header then Canos' shot from outside the box. Dowell makes a well-timed tackle to nick the ball off Henry as the Brentford wing-back gallops past him.
M. Normann
Yellow Card
Norwich City
32' Normann is booked for a crude challenge on Janelt. Norwich's Norwegian has been in the thick of the action so far.
30' Norwich's run of not scoring more than once in the top-flight ends at 28 matches. What a huge relief that must be for Farke and the Canaries. They've still got an hour of this game left to navigate though.
T. Pukki
Penalty Goal
Norwich City
29' GOAL! BRENTFORD 0-2 NORWICH CITY! Pukki coolly steps up and sweeps the penalty into the bottom left corner of the goal, sending Fernandez the wrong way. Norwich have scored twice and their fans must think they're dreaming!
C. Goode
Yellow Card
28' Goode is booked for bringing Pukki down. The Norwich striker will now get the chance to double his team's lead from the penalty spot.
28' PENALTY FOR NORWICH! Pukki races through on goal and Goode slides into the Finn just as he's about to pull the trigger. It's a clumsy challenge and an easy decision for the referee.
26' Janelt swings the corner in and Gibson gets to it first. Goode gets past Dowell down the right to cross in. Toney gets his head on the end of it but Norwich clear the second ball and are eventually awarded a free-kick as Pinnock fouls Gibson.
24' Normann hauls Janelt to the turf but Brentford don't get the free-kick. The Bees do end up winning a corner down their left though.
22' Normann's searching ball over the top is headed away by Goode. Canos tries to make inroads by cutting inside and Normann comes across to snuff the attack out.
21' Canos tries to dispossess Williams and ends up pushing the Manchester United loanee over. Norwich gratefully accept the free-kick.
20' Pinnock's stray backpass is almost intercepted by Pukki but Jansson bails his teammate out of trouble. Already things are starting to look cagey.
19' Brentford hurl the ball into Norwich's box as Dowell brings down Norgaard. Norwich get rid of it after blocking Jansson and Mbeumo's shots and it goes all the way back to Fernandez.
18' Aarons took a kick to the chest from Henry as the Brentford man leapt up there. It was entirely accidentally. Aarons is rubbing his abdomen but he'll be OK.
17' The former Norwich man Canos powers down the right and squares the ball for Jensen whose shot from range is blocked. Brentford try again and Krul leaps up to claim Henry's loose header.
15' Aarons fires a cross into the box that Pukki can't reach to bring under control. It's been a lively start to the game.
13' Krul makes a point-blank save to deny Norgaard! Brentford put a corner into Norwich's box from the left and the rebound falls to the Dane inside the six-yard box. Norwich's goalkeeper bravely blocks his shot. The Bees get another corner that Pinnock heads over.
C. Goode
M. Jørgensen
12' Zanka trudges off. Goode replaces him at centre-back for Brentford.
12' It looks like Zanka is injured and will have to go off. That's another blow for Brentford in the first 15 minutes of this match.
11' Rashica cuts inside from the left and loops a shot straight into the arms of Fernandez. Norwich have started unusually brightly.
10' Rashica pings a crossfield pass in the direction of the overlapping Aarons. Henry reads it well and nods it back to Fernandez.
9' Rashica's corner is headed away at the far post. Norwich's ball back in is laid off by Pukki but only to a Brentford defender.
8' That goal will do Norwich's confidence the world of good. Dowell bursts down the inside-left channel and wins a corner for the visitors.
M. Normann
Norwich City
6' GOAL! BRENTFORD 0-1 NORWICH CITY! Toney's shanked clearance lands to Normann who jinks through the middle and slots into the bottom right corner from the edge of the box. Norwich have taken the lead for the first time this season!
6' Rashica beats Canos down the left and flings a high cross into the box that Brentford don't entirely clear. It's bad news for the Bees...
I. Toney
Yellow Card
5' Toney picks up an early yellow card for raking the calf of Omobamidele. It's a poor challenge by the Brentford striker.
4' Fernandez, deputising in goal for Brentford in David Raya's absence, rushes out of his box to clear with Pukki racing after Lees-Melou's throughball.
3' Brentford get the chance to test Krul as Norwich struggle to clear the ball into the box. They can't get a shot on target though as their follow-up cross plops wide of goal.
2' Canos smashes an attempted cross into the body of Williams and Brentford get an early throw-in. There's a right old atmosphere in the Brentford Community Stadium.
1' The players take the knee and Norwich get this game underway, with the Premier League's new winter ball no less!
The two teams gather on the centre circle as The Last Post is played on the bugle. Applause erupts around the stadium.
This will be the first ever top-flight meeting between Brentford and Norwich. The Bees are winless in their last five league meetings against the Canaries, drawing 1-1 twice and losing 1-0 three times in that run. Norwich haven't lost away to Brentford since 2009 when they were both in League One. This is a big game for Norwich and it could well be tight.
Brentford make two changes from their 3-1 defeat away to Burnley last week. Janelt and Mbeumo replace Onyeka and Forss in the starting line-up. There are three changes to Norwich from their 2-1 home defeat to Leeds as they return to a back four. Williams, Lees-Melou and Gibson come in. Gibson captains the side with Grant Hanley injured.
SUBS: Angus Gunn, Adam Idah, Lukas Rupp, Joshua Sargent, Christos Tzolis, Przemyslaw Placheta, Dimitrios Giannoulis, Billy Gilmour, Jacob Lungi Sorensen.
NORWICH CITY (4-5-1): Tim Krul; Max Aarons, Andrew Omobamidele, Ben Gibson (c), Brandon Williams; Kieran Dowell, Pierre Lees-Melou, Mathias Normann, Kenny McLean, Milot Rashica; Teemu Pukki.
SUBS: Charlie Goode, Saman Ghoddos, Matthew Cox, Finley Stevens, Frank Ogochukwu Onyeka, Mads Roerslev Rasmussen, Dominic Thompson, Marcus Forss, Mads Bidstrup.
BRENTFORD (3-5-2): Álvaro Fernandez; Zanka, Pontus Jansson (c), Ethan Pinnock; Sergio Canos, Vitaly Janelt, Christian Norgaard, Mathias Jensen, Rico Henry; Bryan Mbeumo, Ivan Toney.
Rock-bottom Norwich City need points quickly. Daniel Farke's men have taken just two points from their last 20 Premier League matches and haven't scored more than once in any of their last 28 top-flight games. The Canaries risk breaking Derby County's infamous record-low points total of 11 points in 2007-08 if they don't find their shooting boots.
Brentford have made a positive start to life in the Premier League despite a recent dip. Thomas Frank's men enter this game 13th in the table, having lost their last three league matches. However, only Chelsea and Manchester City have had more different goalscorers than the Bees so far this season, which bodes well for their chances of staying up.
