That's all from us tonight folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
Dortmund will return to Bundesliga action on Sunday as they face Eintracht Frankfurt and their next Champions League match is against Slavia Prague in two weeks. Meanwhile, Barcelona will face Granada on Saturday in La Liga, with Inter up next in continental competition.
It ends goalless between Dortmund and Barcelona, despite plenty of opportunities for the hosts in the second half. The best opportunity fell to Reus, who stepped up to take a penalty after Semedo brought down Sancho, but the winger's penalty was well saved by Ter Stegen. Alcacer and Reus both went close shortly after and Brandt struck the crossbar from long range, with Ter Stegen well-beaten in the Barcelona goal. The visitors struggled to create anything of note at the other end, with Suarez going closest, but even the introduction of Messi couldn't break down the resilient Dortmund defence.
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: DORTMUND 0-0 BARCELONA
90' + 3' CHANCE! Messi with a great chance with the last kick of the game! Suarez whips a deep cross into the box, which Messi controls at the far post and then fires towards goal, but Delaney gets across and makes a great block to deny him.
90' + 2' Barcelona are pushing forward late on in search of a winning goal, but the pace of the game is quite slow and it doesn't look like they are going to be able to carve out any opportunities late on.
90' There will be a minimum of three minutes added time played.
89' Surely just one goal will wrap up victory for either side at this late stage. Can anyone get the breakthrough and clinch all three points?
J. Bruun Larsen
Paco Alcácer
Borussia Dortmund
87' Another Dortmund substitution, with Alcacer coming off the pitch and he has been replaced by Bruun Larsen.
84' Barcelona are now keeping the ball well and have Dortmund penned deep inside the own half, however they can't seem to get into the hosts final third, whose defence are looking strong.
82' As we enter the final 10 minutes of the game, Dortmund will be hoping all of those missed opportunities don't come back to haunt them late on.
80' Dortmund have won just two of their last eight Champions League home matches (D2 L4), losing their last match there: 0-1 against Tottenham Hotspur in the Last 16 in 2018-19.
78' The chances are coming thick and fast now! Ter Stegen with another good save to deny Dortmund. Reus again, but this time from close range as Brandt drills the ball across the six-yard box and Ter Stegen gets down quickly to stop the flick on from Reus heading into the back of the net.
77' OFF THE BAR! Brandt strikes the woodwork with a terrific strike from the edge of the penalty area, which had beaten Ter Stegen and looked to be flying into the top left-hand corner, but the woodwork denies him.
75' ANOTHER CHANCE! Reus this time with the opportunity in front of goal for Dortmund, but he can't get his effort on target! The skipper drifted into the penalty area unmarked and didn't have any Barcelona defenders near him as a low cross came into path, but he skies the ball high over the crossbar.
J. Brandt
T. Hazard
Borussia Dortmund
73' Dortmund make their first substitution, with Hazard coming off the pitch and he has been replaced by Brandt.
71' CHANCE! Alcacer with a great chance for Dortmund! The striker found himself in space at the near post as the ball was drilled into him, but he can't sort his feet out quickly enough and he puts the ball wide of the post, with just Ter Stegen to beat. They're getting closer.
I. Rakitić
Yellow Card
Barcelona
70' Rakitic is booked after he handles the ball.
68' The stadium is bouncing right now as Dortmund are on top, they look the more dangerous side in front of goal and are carving out the better chances.
66' The game has opened up slightly now, with both teams struggling to keep the ball, instead breaking quickly on the counter.
64' Blocked! Reus goes close with a drilled effort from the edge of the box after a quick move by Dortmund. The winger cuts inside onto his left foot, but Semedo gets back just in time to make the block and send the ball wide of the Barcelona goal.
62' Messi was the Champions League top scorer in 2018/19 (12 goals) for the sixth season; that’s one fewer than Cristiano Ronaldo (7). He is 14 goals short of his Portuguese counterpart in the all-time scoring list in the competition (112 goals vs 126).
I. Rakitić
Sergio Busquets
Barcelona
60' The other change sees Busquets come off and he has been replaced by Rakitic.
L. Messi
Ansu Fati
Barcelona
59' Barcelona make a double substitution, with Fati coming off and he has been replaced by Messi, who is making his long awaited return from injury.
M. Reus
Penalty Miss
Borussia Dortmund
57' MISSED! The Dortmund skipper Reus steps up to take the penalty, but his effort isn't close enough to the corner of the goal and Ter Stegen reads it well and makes a great save.
M. ter Stegen
Penalty Save
Barcelona
57' SAVED! Ter Stegen with a terrific save to deny Reus from the penalty spot! The keeper guessed the right way and got a strong hand to it, before then collecting the rebound just in time as it looked like Reus was about to tap home from a couple of yards out.
Nélson Semedo
Yellow Card
Barcelona
55' Semedo is booked for his challenge on Sancho, for which the referee awarded a penalty to Dortmund.
55' DORTMUND PENALTY! The home side have the chance to go ahead from the penalty spot after Sancho is clipped by Semedo, he appears to stand on the ankle of the winger as he dribbles the ball past him. No need for VAR with that decision, despite the appeals from the Barcelona players.
54' Offside! The free-kick is whipped deep into the Barcelona box and is met by the head of Guerreiro, who powers the ball down into the ground and just wide of the post. He should've been scoring from there! However, the offside flag was up anyway and it wouldn't have counted.
53' Another free-kick to Dortmund in a good position around 25 yards out, as Arthur brings down Delaney.
51' Into the wall! Alcacer steps up to take the resulting free-kick around 20 yards out, but he drills the ball straight into a strong Barcelona defensive wall and they then clear the danger.
Piqué
Yellow Card
Barcelona
50' Hakimi does well to work space on the edge of the Barcelona penalty area, he skips past Pique, who then slides in and brings him down. Dortmund now have a free-kick in a very good shooting position and Pique is shown a yellow card.
48' CHANCE! Suarez with the best opportunity of the game for Barcelona, he skips past Hakimi down the right wing and then gets a clear sight of goal, but tries to beat Burki at his near post, rather then cross to a team-mate in the six-yard box. The Dortmund keeper makes himself big and closes down the angle well, making a good save from close range.
T. Hazard
Yellow Card
Borussia Dortmund
47' Hazard is booked after he brings Sergi Roberto down on the halfway line, as the Barca man looked to counter quickly.
46' The second half is underway!
Barcelona were forced into making an enforced change at the end of the half, with Alba coming off injured with a muscle injury. However, despite that the Catalan side will be hoping to capitalise on their good possession after the break, turning that into chances in front of goal.
It's goalless at the break between Dortmund and Barcelona, with the hosts going the closest to scoring in the first half. Reus had the best chance of the game, but he was unable to beat Ter Stegen from close range, after a lovely through ball behind the Barca defence by Hazard. Sancho also had a good opportunity, but he was unable to keep his effort down from the edge of the box. Barcelona have seen more of the ball, but are yet to test Burki, with the Dortmund defence and Hummels in particular, playing very well.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: DORTMUND 0-0 BARCELONA
45' + 2' Good effort! Griezmann flicks a corner on at the near post and it almost flies straight into the path of Pique, who would've had a tap-in from a few yards out, but Hummels is there to head the ball away.
45' There will be a minimum of three minutes added time played.
43' There's just a few minutes left on the clock until the end of the first half now, can either side break the deadlock before the half-time whistle?
41' Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 14 Champions League group stage games (W10 D4) and have lost just one of their last 28 at this stage of the competition (W21 D6); away at Manchester City in November 2016 (1-3).
Sergi Roberto
Jordi Alba
Barcelona
40' Barcelona have been forced into making a substitution, with Alba unable to run off his injury and he has been replaced by Sergi Roberto.
39' CHANCE! Sancho with a great opportuntity for Dortmund! Brilliant counter by the hosts, they open up the Barca defence and Alcacer cuts the ball back to Sancho who raced to the edge of the box, unmarked and in plenty of space. However, the winger skies his effort high over the crossbar, he should be doing better there.
37' As Burki punched the ball clear, he also collided with his team-mate, Alcacer, who is down receiving some treatment after the heavy collision. However, it looks like he will be fine to continue.
36' Blocked! Barcelona have a free-kick which is whipped into the box and punched out by Burki at the second attempt, but the ball then falls straight to Fati, who fires a volley towards goal, but it's well blocked and goes out for a corner.
34' Problem for Barcelona as Alba is down with an injury, it appears to be a hamstring problem and he is receiving some treatment on the pitch.
32' There is a cracking atmosphere here inside the stadium, with the home supporters being as vocal as ever. They've looked the most dangerous so far.
30' We're midway through the half now and it's Dortmund who have had the best chance of the game to score so far, with Barca yet to create anything in front of goal.
28' Over! Reus whips the ball into the box and Hummels gets a touch on it, but he sends it high over the crossbar, not troubling Ter Stegen.
27' Good opportunity for Dortmund here as they have a free-kick deep inside the Barcelona half, close to the left touchline, after Semedo brings down Sancho as the winger looked to break into the penalty area. Reus stands over the free-kick.
25' CHANCE! Great save by Ter Stegen to deny Reus! Wonderful play by Dortmund on the edge of the penalty area, Hazard plays a deft ball in-behind the Barca defence, that Reus runs onto, totally unmarked and he just has the keeper to beat. However, Ter Stegen makes himself big and makes a superb stop from close range. Best chance of the game.
23' This is the fourth successive season that Dortmund have been in a Champions League group stage with a club from Spain. In 2016-17 they drew both games with Real Madrid, in 2017-18 they suffered defeats in both games against Real and last season then won 4-0 at home but lost 0-2 away to Atletico Madrid.
21' There isn't a great deal of urgency or intent from either side just yet, neither keeper has had a save to make, with much of the ball being played in the middle of the pitch, as both defences do a good job of keeping them out of their final thirds.
19' Alcacer almost beats the offiside flag on the halfway line, slipping between Pique and Lenglet after a through ball by Reus. However, he makes his run too early and the flag goes up straight away.
17' Good play! Barca break quickly, with Suarez laying the ball out wide to Griezmann, who whips the return cross into the box looking for his team-mate, but Hummels gets back just in time to glance it away from danger, with Suarez lurking just behind him.
T. Delaney
Yellow Card
Borussia Dortmund
15' Delaney hacks down Busquets in the middle of the pitch and he is shown the first yellow card of the game.
13' Decent effort! Griezmann with the first attempt at goal, but his curling effort from the edge of the box takes a deflection and flies wide of the post and out for a corner. Pique gets on the end of the resulting corner, but not enough to glance the ball into the far corner of the net.
11' This will be the third meeting between Dortmund and Barcelona in a competitive match. The previous two came in the 1997-98 European Super Cup over two legs, with Barcelona winning the first leg 2-0 at home before drawing 1-1 in Germany.
9' When Dortmund are in possession, Barca are dropping deep and reverting to a 4-5-1 formation, with Fati and Griezmann tucking in down the wings to try and prevent Sancho and Hazard from getting on the ball.
7' Despite their possession, Barcelona are yet to create a chance in front of goal. Suarez is linking up well with Fati, but he is getting no joy in front of the Dortmund centre-backs so far.
5' Good play by Dortmund down the left wing after Sancho breaks into the penalty area and tries to square the ball across goal, but he is denied by Semedo. The home fans appeal for a penalty, but there was very little contact there. Play continues, with a chipped ball into Alcacer in the six-yard box, but he can't reach it and Barcelona clear the danger.
3' Barcelona with the early possession here, keeping the ball well in the middle of the pitch, however, Dortmund look dangerous on the counter-attack when they do manage to win it back deep inside their own half.
1' We're underway!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick-off is just a few minutes away, stay tuned for all of the match action!
Fati starts for Barcelona, becoming their youngest ever player to feature in the Champions League at 16-years-old. They've made just one change to the side that beat Valencia 5-2 at the weekend, with Perez dropping to the bench and he has been replaced by Suarez up front.
Hazard comes into the Dortmund starting XI, replacing Brandt on the left wing, who started their 4-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. That's the only change for the German side, as they line up in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation.

Barcelona suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Liverpool last season in the Champions League semi-final, as the Catalan side threw away a 3-0 lead, to lose 4-3 at Anfield. They haven't enjoyed the best of starts to their La Liga campaign, they currently sit fifth, after a defeat against Athletic Bilbao and a 2-2 draw with Osasuna.
Dortmund have won three of their first four Bundesliga games this season, slipping up at Union Berlin at the end of August, but they sit just one point behind Leipzig at the top. They were knocked out of the Champions League by Tottenham last season, suffering a 4-0 aggregate defeat in the round of 16.
