Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Benevento notch their first point of the season thanks to the heroics of keeper Alberto Brignoli.  He came forward from the back for the last-chance free-kick and did not disappoint as he connected with a brilliant diving header to send the home fans into raptures. Gennaro Gattuso will be furious with his side for throwing away two points. Milan were poor all afternoon and even though goals from Giacomo Bonaventura and Nikola Kalinic put them ahead they were not convicing and did allow Benevento back into the game when George Puscas scored in the second half. Alessio Romagnoli's dismissal allowed the home side to pour men forward in the dying stage and they were rewarded with Brignoli's dramatic equaliser.

We're back underway in this Serie A clash.

The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
STAT ATTACK! AC Milan have won only three of their last 12 away league matches against newly-promoted teams in Serie A (D6 L3).
STAT ATTACK! This is the first meeting between Benevento and Milan.
Mateo Musacchio and Fabio Borini are recalled to the line-up in Gattuso's first game in charge, with the Italian opting to start with Nikola Kalinic to spearhead the attack ahead of Andre Silva.
Benevento have made four changes from their defeat last time out to Atalanta. Gaetano Letizia, Ledian Memushaj, Vittorio Parigini and George Puscas all get the start today, with Puscas leading the line in attack.
Milan subs: Calabria, Silva, Gomez, Zapata, Abate, Biglia, Paletta, Storari, Antonelli, Cutrone, Locatelli, Antonio Donnarumma.
MILAN (3-4-2-1): Donnarumma; Musacchio, Bonucci, Romagnoli; Borini, Kessie, Montolivo, Rodriguez, Suso, Bonaventura; Kalinic.
Benevento subs: Belec, Del Pinto, Coda, Piscitelli, Viola, Gyamfi, Venuti, Kanoute, Lombardi, Antei, Gravillon, Brignola.
BENEVENTO (4-1-4-1): Brignoli; Letizia, Djimsiti, Costa, Di Chiara; Memushaj, Chibsah, Cataldi; D’Alessandro, Puscas, Parigini.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Gattuso has been handed a welcome opening match against pointless Benevento. The newly-promoted side have not managed to claim a single point from any of their 14 matches this term, scoring just six goals in the process. Roberto De Zerbi will be desperate for any sort of positive result to get his side off the mark.
Gennaro Gattuso makes his bow in the Milan dugout today after being announced as Vincenzo Montella's successor. The Rossoneri are currently seventh in the table, well off the pace of the Champions League places. Milan's form had not been atrocious under Montella with two wins in their last six matches, but defeat to Napoli and a goalless draw against Torino ended his reign.
Good morning and welcome to the live commentary of the Serie A clash between Benevento and Milan at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito.
