Schalke are without a win in their last 18 Bundesliga games against Bayern (D3, L15) – their longest winless run against one side in their Bundesliga history.
Schalke have made two changes to their side that beat Monchengladbach last week. Schopf drops to the bench, while Benito Raman misses out completely. Gregoritsch leads the line, while Matondo and Harti come into the starting line-up to support the forward.
Bayern have made one change to their side from their win over Hertha Berlin last time out. Coutinho drops to the bench to accomodate Kimmich in the middle of the park. Flick retains the front three of Perisic, Lewandowski and Muller after all three players scored last week.

Schalke produced a fine display of their own last time out to defeat Borussia Monchengladbach at home. Goals from Suat Serdar and Michael Gregoritsch, on his debut for the club, delivered the three points and continued their surge up the table. There's a an opportunity for David Wagner's team this evening to draw level on points with Bayern should they triumph, although they will have to put in a flawless performance.
Opportunity knocks for Bayern this evening courtesy of RB Leipzig's 2-0 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt earlier today. A win would take Bayern to within a point of their rivals at the top of the table, although Hans-Dieter Flick's men still have a challenge on their hands. They have been in outstanding form of late, winning their last four matches on the bounce, including a 4-0 hammering of Hertha Berlin on their return to action from the winter break. Flick will be eyeing a similar performance tonight from his team.
