UEFA Champions League
UEFA Europa League

That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
This win moves Tottenham up to sixth in the table, just one point behind West Ham and they will travel to Newcastle United next time out. Meanwhile Villa remain 10th and they welcome Fulham after the international break.
Tottenham bounce back from a disappointing week to clinch a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, after a first half tap in from Vinicius, before Kane doubled their lead on 68 minutes from the penalty spot. Spurs weren’t at their best, but got the job done, despite a good performance from the hosts, who just lacked a clinical edge in the final third.
M. Targett
Yellow Card
90' + 2' There isn't much happening now, the pace is very slow as we just see this game out to it's conclusion. Targett is booked for a late challenge on Moura.
90' There will be a minimum of four minutes added time played at the end of the second half.
88' Time is running out for Villa to pull a goal back, they look short of ideas and it appears to be Tottenham who will walk away with all three points today.
86' Kane has been directly involved in 30 goals in the Premier League this season (17 goals, 13 assists), while only Robert Lewandowski (41) has had a direct hand in more across the top five European leagues in 2020-21.
84' BLOCKED! Villa work the ball nicely and catch Tottenham out on the counter, with Barkley finding space just inside the penalty area and he drills an effort towards goal. However, Davies and Tanganga throw themselves at the shot, with the latter clearing the danger.
Carlos Vinícius
Yellow Card
83' Vinicius is booked for his challenge on Douglas Luiz.
J. McGinn
Yellow Card
81' McGinn is booked after arguing a decision with the referee.
M. Sissoko
T. Ndombèlé
81' Here comes another Tottenham change, with Ndombele coming off and it is a straight swap in midfield, with Sissoko his replacement.
K. Davis
79' Another Villa substitution now, with Trezeuet the man coming off and he has been replaced by Davis.
78' SAVE! Hojbjerg slides in on the edge of the box to win the ball back in a dangerous area and he then drills a fierce strike towards goal, which forces Martinez to get down and make an excellent save.
76' Tottenham are enjoying a decent spell of possession, just keeping it nicely in midfield and making Villa do all the defending. There isn't much intent by either side at the moment.
M. Cash
Yellow Card
74' Cash is the first Villa player to be booked, after his challenge on Moura just inside the hosts half of the pitch.
73' Trezeguet with another decent opportunity, but he can't get his shot on target as he drags it wide of the Tottenham goal, with Lloris untroubled.
72' Since a 1-2 defeat at Villa Park on New Year’s Day 2008, Spurs are unbeaten in nine away Premier League games against Aston Villa (W7 D2), winning the last five in a row; Spurs’ only longer away winning run against an opponent in the top-flight was against the Villans between 1950 and 1956 (7).
70' There is still plenty of time for Villa to get back into this game, but surely it is going to be a tough ask, with Tottenham now likely to sit back and see the game out.
H. Kane
Penalty Goal
68' GOAL! Kane converts from the penalty spot and sends Tottenham 2-0 ahead! The striker was brought down by Cash deep inside the Villa box and he then stepped up to take the penalty as well, sending Martinez the wrong way, firing it into the bottom left corner of the net.
67' PENALTY! Kane races into the box after a good through ball by Moura, however, he loses control, but Cash dives in and catches the strikers legs, bringing him down. The ball goes out of play, but the referee points to the spot straight away.
R. Barkley
M. Sanson
66' Sanson heads off the pitch for Villa and he has been replaced by Barkley.
S. Bergwijn
G. Lo Celso
66' Both teams make another change now, the first from Tottenham, with Lo Celso replaced by Bergwijn.
64' Tottenham are getting into some good position down the flanks, but just aren't getting crosses into the box, despite having a good aerial threat with Vinicius and Kane.
G. Lo Celso
Yellow Card
62' Villa try and play a free-kick quickly to catch Tottenham out, but Lo Celso stops it and he is shown a yellow card.
61' CLOSE! Villa once again work the ball well down the left wing, with El Ghazi finding time and space on the edge of the box and he fires a powerful strike towards the top left corner. However, it flies just wide of the post, with Lloris seeing it wide.
A. El Ghazi
Bertrand Traoré
60' Villa have made their first substitution now, with Traore the man coming off and he has been replaced by El Ghazi.
58' CHANCE! McGinn feeds Sanson down the left wing and the midfielder pulls it back from the byline to Trezeguet, who fires an effort towards goal. However Rodon does brilliantly to read it and makes the block.
B. Davies
57' Here is the enforced Tottenham change, with Reguilon replaced by Davies. A straight swap at left-back.
56' Reguilon is going to have to come off for Tottenham, the medical staff are on the pitch and the left-back is unable to continue, so Davies looks set to take his place.
54' In all competitions, Aston Villa have lost 11 of their last 12 matches against Tottenham Hotspur, winning the other in April 2015 under Tim Sherwood.
52' Reguilon may have a problem here for Spurs, he went down earlier following a challenge and has just been involved in a collision with Konsa. However, he is going to try and run the injury off.
50' Villa have once again started the half by seeing more of the ball, but are just lacking a clinical final pass in front of goal. Traore has got into some good positions down the right wing, but his delivery has been poor at times.
48' CLOSE! Cash plays a poor ball out from the back and Reguilon wins it back, gets it to Moura, who passes to Kane and the striker is allowed too much time and space to fire an effort towards goal. However, it takes a slight deflection off Mings and flies inches wide of the bottom right corner.
46' The second half is under way!
Mourinho stormed down the tunnel at the half-time whistle, as his side have been poor and are fortunate to be ahead. Villa just seen short of ideas in the final third as they are yet to really test Lloris.
Tottenham lead 1-0 at the break, after a big mistake by Martinez after he failed to deal with a long ball over the top and the visitors punished him. Kane and Moura linked up well, with the latter putting it on a plate for Vinicius, who converted from close range. However, the visitors have been off the pace for the most part, looking shaky at the back and Villa have enjoyed much more possession, but haven’t been able to capitalise.
45' There will be a minimum of one minute added time played at the end of the first half.
44' The pace has dropped slightly in the last few minutes, as Spurs look to see the game out to half-time with their 1-0 advantage.
42' CLOSE! Martinez punches a corner clear, but it is picked up by Ndombele on the edge of the box and he fires a volley towards goal, which has the keeper scrambling back. However, it flies just over the crossbar and lands on the top of the net.
41' Despite all their possession, Villa just haven't tested this shaky Tottenham defence enough in the first half and Lloris hasn't had too much to do.
39' There’s not long left to play before the end of the first half, can Villa find the equaliser before the half-time whistle?
37' Moura has assisted a goal in back-to-back Premier League appearances for the first time (97 apps), and the first time in any league since April 2017 in Ligue 1 for PSG.
35' It looks like Spurs are going to try and catch Villa out on the counter, as they aren't keeping the ball very well themselves and as they have two strikers up front, they should be able to stretch the hosts defence.
33' Villa have had a few set pieces now and they look like testing the Tottenham defence, but their final balls into the penalty area have been poor and it is letting Spurs off the hook.
31' The goal has come against the run of play, as Villa had been the side who looked more dangerous, with Spurs struggling at the back.
Lucas Moura
29' Lovely play between Moura and Kane, they spot the opportunity quickly and make Villa pay for their mistake. Kane showed great skill to get away from his marker and then find Moura, who picks out Vinicius in space and the striker couldn't miss.
Carlos Vinícius
29' GOAL! Vinicius scores his first Premier League goal and makes it 1-0! Martinez makes a mess of a clearance as he races out of his box to beat Vinicius to a long ball over the top and his clearance falls straight to Moura. Kane then receives it on the edge of the penalty area and it looks like he might shoot, but instead lays it to Moura on the overlap, who races into the box and squares it across goal to Vinicius, who has a tap in from just a few yards out.
28' Mourinho doesn't look very pleased with his sides performance so far, the Spurs manager is trying to get his players going, but at the moment they are second best and look short of confidence and ideas.
26' Tottenham have lost nine of their 28 Premier League games so far this season – manager José Mourinho has never suffered as many as 10 defeats in a single league campaign in his career.
24' The referee has to break up a scuffle between Konsa and Vinicius after a heavy challenge by the striker on the Villa man near the touchline. Both players are just given warnings.
23' The Spurs defence look very shaky and Villa are trying to exploit this, as the visitors really don't look comfortable at the back so far.
21' Almost! Another Villa free-kick that Tottenham fail to deal with and Traore recycles it on the edge of the penalty area. Targett sneaks in at the far post and Traore picks him out, but the left-back can only slide in and send it back across goal, rather than towards Lloris and Tanganga clears.
19' CHANCE! Trezeguet is fed over the top of the Tottenham defence in the box, he chests the ball down and tries to get it down for a shot, but instead has to flick it to Watkins, who then plays it back to him, but Lloris races out to it in the nick of time and clears the danger.
18' Almost! Traore does really well down the left wing, getting all the way into the box and then tries to take on Reguilon, who just does enough to clear the danger. However, it comes straight back at them, with Traore feeding Cash, but his cross from the byline is blocked.
16' The game is quite scrappy at the moment, with neither team able to control possession and settle into their own rhythm in the opening 16 minutes.
14' Almost! McGinn looks up and spots the quick run of Trezeguet in behind Sanchez and almost picks his teammate out, but luckily Lloris is off his line quickly to gather. Not the best of starts from Sanchez.
13' It looks like Kane is going to be playing more out wide in this Tottenham line-up, with Vinicius the more central of the two strikers.
11' Tottenham have lost four of their last five away league games (W1), as many as they had in their previous 20 on the road (W8 D8). Each of Spurs’ last eight away league wins has come against placed 13th or lower in the table, last beating a side in the top half on the road back in December 2019 (2-1 vs Wolves).
9' Good counter! Kane holds the ball up well around the halfway line, he then flicks it to Moura, who sprints forward and stretches the Villa defence, before laying it out wide to Reguilon. However, the left-backs cross is well blocked.
7' Villa whip a free-kick into the box and Tanganga has to be alert to get across and make a clearing header to stop Mings from getting on the end of it, after he gets away from Sanchez.
5' It will be interesting to see how Tottenham respond to their crushing defeat in the Europa League in midweek. Mourinho has made plenty of changes here in an effort to shake things up.
3' Decent start by Villa, with Cash and Traore linking up well down the right wing. However, just as they are about to enter the final third they lose the ball and Spurs clear the danger.
1' We're under way!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick off is just a few minutes away, stay tuned for all the match action!
