Saved well twice from Taylor-Fletcher. Made two sharp stops from Eardley and Ormerod around 80 minute mark to keep City ahead.
Belgian not at his best but still won every header. Passed straight into touch to infuriate Mancini. Couldn't stop Blackpool from creating chances but made sure they didn't convert.
Consecutive starts for England international. Not as accomplished or fast as Kolo Toure. Unsettled Kompany despite clean sheet.
Perennially lackadaisical German continues to look a waste of money. Ponderous in possession and barely got a tackle in. Needs to step up to Premier League mark.
Giant Serb struggled to keep lid on nippy Blackpool attack. Skinned one time too many by Phillips and hooked for Zabaleta.
Kept it simple with De Jong but, as per usual, lacked pace and incision to make his mark on ball. Game passed him by.
Slight Spaniard shot just wide of Kingson's right post in first-half. Came a cropper from an Adam challenge past hour mark and taken off.
N. de Jong
Dutchman went about his business in usual manner as he was paired with Barry. Tried to give Adam minimal time on ball.
Ivorian was a colossus. Used giant stride to brush aside Blackpool midfielders. Played in Tevez and Johnson in first-half following powerful runs. Nearly ran through Blackpool defence in second period before denied by Cathcart's leg. There could be no attack on his energy levels on this performance. Taken off to warm applause for Vieira.
Received touchline rollocking from Mancini for lack of effort in first-half. Bounced back with deflected goal. Too selfish at times and didn't always make most of openings. Need to match workload with his undisputed quality.
Bundle of energy but couldn't find finish. Spurned chance in opening minute when he picked up an Adam's back pass and scuffed first-half penalty wide. Fell over with goal gaping after he dribbled past Kingson. Apologised to support for misses but never stopped trying.
Kept busy by City's repeated efforts on goal. Saved well from Tevez several times. Left helpless by deflection for Johnson opener and saved by Argentine's wayward spot-kick.
Lost Silva as the Spaniard drifted all across the pitch. Failed to stand up Tevez when he moved to same side of pitch.
Big centre-back dug in and tried to stop City running rampant. Showed surprising turn of pace to clatter into Toure and clear. Promising partnership with Cathcart.
Always looked to bomb on and cause problems to Boateng. Hustled Johnson into the awaiting Blackpool defensive pack time after time. Unlucky to see shot from opponent deflect past Kingson.
Manchester United youth product was immediately called into action to pressure Tevez into not converting Adam's first minute back pass. Continued to stand tall and denied rampaging Toure. Impressed.
Denied twice in first-half when played in. Denied by Kolarov and Hart when he got behind defence, before later curled effort was palmed away by England international. Repeatedly troubled Kolarov. Tired and substituted for Ormerod.
Frenchman impressed with several smart turns and passes. Played in Taylor-Fletcher when he picked up ricochet from Adam shot. Didn't make second half and withdrawn for Phillips.
Couldn't match huge stride of Toure. Left in wake all too often.
Ring rust from missing previous game to suspension on show as suicidal first-minute back pass almost led to Tevez goal. Quality soon showed and he pinged ball around for fun.
Quiet game for the goal hero from Sunderland victory. Hustled City defence rather than caused them to strain.
Let-off after ridiculous rugby tackle on Toure led to penalty. Got under Boateng's skin. Header over from Phillips at start of second period. Hooked for Carney.
- M. Halstead
- 24 R. Edwards
- 15 A. Baptiste
Australia international given last 10 minutes to impress. Helped Blackpool keep pressure on.
Tricky winger introduced at half-time. Instant cross was headed over by Varney and then left Kolarov for dust. A bright prospect.
- 4 K. Southern
Striker was thrown on in place of Taylor-Fletcher on 74 minutes. Drew one good save from Hart with a header.
