The former Real Madrid defender gave his old rivals the lead with less than 15 minutes left in the match.

A diagonal ball into the box from Ferran Torres found Lamine Yamal, who headed it down and off of Ramos before slipping past Orjan Nyland.

The goal proved to be the winner in the tight affair at the Estadio Olimpico and will be a particularly bitter one for Ramos, given he spent 16 years at Barca's fierce rivals Madrid.

Barca return to the top of La Liga thanks to the result, while Sevilla see their four-game unbeaten run come to an end.

Friday's game saw Yamal and Ramos reunite after seven years. In 2016, the pair entered the field together as the 16-year-old sensation was a mascot for a Clasico match at Camp Nou and walked out of the tunnel beside Ramos.

Barca are in action again on Wednesday when they face Porto in the Champions League, with Sevilla taking on PSV the previous day.
