Nigerians to watch this weekend

Goal preview the Nigerians expected to feature for their respective clubs around the world this weekend

  • Wilfred Ndidi - Leicester City

    Wilfred Ndidi

The defensive midfielder featured in Leicester City’s 2-0 win over out-of-form Arsenal before the international break, as the Foxes rose to second in the standings – aided by Manchester City’s 3-1 defeat at Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers’ troops travel to Brighton & Hove Albion seeking their fifth successive Premier League win on the spin as they seek to maintain their position. However, they’ll have to be wary of a Seagulls side with three wins and a draw in their last four games at the Amex.
  • Alex Iwobi - Everton

    Alex Iwobi

Iwobi enjoyed an impressive 15-minute cameo in Everton’s colossal 2-1 win over Southampton a fortnight ago, and will be looking to start when the Toffees host struggling Norwich City on Saturday.

The bottom-placed Canaries have the worst away record in the division, losing five in six trips with 12 goals conceded in that run, so Marco Silva’s men are slight favourites for the encounter.

Iwobi and his teammates have been average at Goodison Park this term, but Norwich’s appalling record on the road should see them fancy their chances of extending their unbeaten home run to three games.

  • Semi Ajayi - West Brom

    Semi Ajayi

West Bromwich Albion picked up an impressive 1-0 win over Hull City to end gameweek 16 atop the Championship.

Ajayi featured in the encounter which ended the Tigers’ three-game winning run, and the centre-back is expected to maintain his record of playing every minute for Slaven Bilic’s side this season when they host Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

The Baggies may be top of the table, but their form at the Hawthorns (three wins and four draws) hasn’t been great, so a win in Saturday isn’t set in stone.

  • Eberechi Eze - QPR 2019-20

    Eberechi Eze

Queens Park Rangers may be winless in four games, but Eze’s performances have been excellent.

The consistent wideman can be backed to deliver another good showing when QPR make the short trip to face Fulham in Friday night’s West London Derby at Craven Cottage.

Will the in-form 21-year-old deliver another impressive showing to help Rangers to a first win in five?

  • Jamilu Collins

    Jamilu Collins

Paderborn remained bottom at the conclusion of gameweek 11 after falling to a slender 1-0 loss against Augsburg.

That defeat saw Collins and his teammates fall six points from safety, and Friday’s trip to Borussia Dortmund puts them at the risk of falling further behind in the battle to avoid the relegation zone.

While Dortmund’s form away from Signal Iduna Park has been sketchy, they’ve won four of their five games at home, and will back themselves to inflict another away defeat on Paderborn.

  • Udinese's Troost-Ekong

    William Troost-Ekong

Udinese have steadied in the last two games after damaging defeats at the hands of Atalanta and Roma in late October, picking up four points from a possible six since.

Troost-Ekong is expected to feature at the heart of the defence when the White and Blacks travel to a Sampdoria side in the bottom three.

Udinese may have picked up only four points on their travels this season, but will be buoyed by their hosts’ unremarkable home form – one win, three draws and two defeats.

  • Ola Aina - Rennes

    Ola Aina

Juventus will hope neighbours Torino do them a favour when they host title contenders Inter Milan in one of the high profile games of gameweek 13.

Aina’s place in Walter Mazzarri’s starting line-up isn’t guaranteed, so it remains to be seen if the wing-back will feature from the off.

If the wideman plays, he’ll make his 11th appearance of the season as the Bull aim to end Inter’s unblemished away run, which currently stands at six wins on the spin.

  • Pablo Nascimento Castro and Moses Simon - Bordeaux vs Nantes

    Moses Simon

Simon’s drop in form has coincided with Nantes losing four on the spin, leading to a drop to ninth on the log.

They could plummet into the bottom-half of the standings if Saturday night’s trip to Stade Brestois goes awry, something Christian Gourcuff will be desperate to avoid.

Brest have been relatively strong at Stade Francis-Le-Ble, with the defeat by PSG their only loss on home turf this term, meaning Simon and co. have to give their all if they want to end a four-game losing streak.
