Mamelodi Sundowns produced a strong second-half performance in their 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United on Saturday afternoon.
Peter Shalulile and Cassius Mailula netted the Tshwane giants' two goals, but Thapelo Morena, Gaston Sirino and Sphelele Mkhulise also caught the eye on the day.
GOAL ran the rule over the individual performances of the Downs players.
Kept his first clean sheet of the season.
Onyango had a couple of good saves to make, but little else in that regard. He found Downs attackers with some decent long passing.
Impressive display.
Morena was very influential in the right flank - making dangerous runs which cut open Sekhukhune's defence and he provided the assist for Mailula's goal. He also contained Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya.
Started well on the left flank.
Ngobeni delivered some great crosses into the visitors' box, but his teammates were wasteful. He became quiet after the restart as he seemed more concerned with stopping Sekhukhune's counter attacks.
Started slowly.
Mandela was initially tormented by Victor Letsoalo who looked to make runs behind Downs' defence. However, Mandela improved gradually and he neutralized the Bafana Bafana striker.
Strong performance.
Lebusa dominated the physical tussle with Chibuike Ohizu and dealt well with Sekhukhune's high balls into the box despite the challenging conditions.
Another good display.
Jali kept things neat and tidy for the most part in midfield. He made well-timed tackles including one where he denied Vusumuzi Mncube a chance to shoot at goal.
Not at his best.
However, Mbule consistently got on the ball and kept everything moving. He was substituted just before hour-mark.
Scooped a second successive Man of the Match award.
Mkhulise constantly on the front foot and picking up intelligent positions as the most advanced of Downs' midfield three. He slowly became Downs' best midfielder.
Worked his socks off.
Maema was quietly effective, keeping things ticking over and using his body well to protect the ball and win his battles.
A constant threat to Sekhukhune's defence.
Sirino linked play brilliantly, often spotting the glaring holes in the visitors' backline and exploiting them. He provided the assist for Shalulile's goal.
Efficient in his role as a targetman.
Shalulile combined well with his teammates and displayed good movement as he popped up in great positions in the visitors' box which saw him break the deadlock.
Looked to dribble past his markers after coming on in the 58th minute, but he never posed a serious threat to Sekhukhune.
Came on in the 58th minute and he stuck to the basics as he won back possession and played some forward passes.
A bit rough as he committed two fouls which led to his dismissal having been introduced in the 58th minute.
Showed great positioning in the opposition's box after coming on in the 75th minute and he got himself a goal. He has made a strong case for coach Rhulani Mokwena to him start against Orlando Pirates next weekend.
Too late to make an impact he was introduced in the 85th minute.
