Five players who shone for Gor Mahia FC as they gunned down Nyasa Big Bullets

Goal Kenya.
A late goal was all K’Ogalo needed to grab a slim advantage over the Malawian giants ahead of the return leg set for next week

  1. Goal Kenya.

    Harun Shakava

It was another test for the skipper to guide his charges past the Malawi champions. Won most of the balls at the back and when there was an opportunity to go forward he did not hesitate. Missed a great chance to give his team the lead in the first half but overall he was excellent.

  2. Goal Kenya.

    Shafik Batambuze

Signed to replace Godfrey Walusimbi at the back and he never disappointed. Stopped the attackers on their tracks and managed to create several chances from set pieces. Was composed on the ball and his positioning off the ball was perfect.

  3. BackpagePix.

    Ernest Wendo

Nyasa came with the defensive mentality from the word go. It had numbers in the midfield to ensure Gor Mahia does not play but Wendo made it hard for them. He harassed well, won the ball and provided cover for the back four. Ensured the attacks are not channeled through the midfield and at the end the team managed to stop the visitors.

  4. Goal Kenya.

    George Odhiambo

Was lively throughout the 90 minutes and worked very hard to make things happen. His link up play was good and his pace troubled the opponents. Could have scored on two occasions but last ditch tackles denied him that chance.

  5. Goal Kenya.

    Benard Ondiek

Came as a second half substitute and changed the game in favor of the Green Army. His intelligence on and off the ball was just too much for the rivals. Was rewarded with a goal in the stoppages that ensured Gor Mahia claim a slim advantage ahead of the second leg.
