The Liga giants are famed for their ‘Galacticos’ recruitment policy under the presidency of Florentino Perez, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, David Beckham and Luis Figo having ticked that box in the past.

According to AS, Real are ready to splash out on the world’s best once more. That is because they have freed up a sizeable chunk of cash that can be invested in upcoming transfer markets. Madrid reportedly have £111m ($139m) in the bank and a further £231m ($290m) in credit policies for which financing has already been found.

Said money is now burning a hole in Perez’s pocket, with those at Santiago Bernabeu ready to make another serious statement. Their wage bill has capacity for more big earners, with some £68m ($85m) being saved after parting with the likes of Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe has been of interest to Real for some time and will hit agency at the end of the current campaign if he opts against taking up the extension option in his contract. Haaland, meanwhile, is said to have a release clause in his deal at Manchester City that can be triggered by teams outside of England – with that option worth £172m ($216m) next summer and £150m ($188m) in 2025.
