The Uruguayan netted twice in the victory over Bordeaux, taking his personal tally to 25 league goals for the season, including one masterful finish

Barcelona host PSG next week with Edinson Cavani in the form of his life, with Luis Enrique hoping the Uruguayan does not pull off an epic finish like this on Tuesday.

Unai Emery's side warmed up for the visit of Barca with a routine win over Bordeaux, but there was little routine about Cavani's opening goal.

The strike means Cavani has now scored in his last six games for PSG, a personal record since moving to Paris in 2013 for €64.5 million.

With the double against Bordeaux, Cavani moves up to become the fourth highest league goalscorer in PSG history, moving above former Portugal international Pauleta.

The 29-year-old now has 78 league goals for the club, behind only Dominique Rocheteau (83 goals), Mustapha Dahleb (85), and current Manchester United top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic (113).

Cavani leads the Ligue 1 scoring charts with 25 goals this season in 23 appearances. The forward has also chipped in with six more in the Champions League, second only behind Lionel Messi in the competition's top scorers list for the current campaign.

The pair will come head-to-head on Tuesday, February 14 when PSG host Barcelona at Parc des Princes.

PSG boss Emery played down talk that the victory was perfect preparation for the midweek clash, praising Barcelona's ability despite some poor recent results.

"We will prepare the match against Barca knowing that both teams are in very good form," Emery told L'Equipe

"Regardless of the which players line up, they will be a very good opponent. We will surely see two very nice matches.

"I have seen some very good Barca matches this season, others not so good, but it is still Barca, so a very difficult opponent."
