Having remained in the game until the second half at Anfield, Al Hain-Cole expects Carvalhal's men to make the Reds work for their goals once again

Liverpool will be hoping to maintain their strong recent form when they travel to the Liberty Stadium to take on Swansea City in Monday’s Premier League clash.

Last weekend’s impressive 4-3 victory over Manchester City made it 10 wins and no defeats in 14 league games for the Reds, who are now 18 matches unbeaten in all competitions.

Match Odds

Having run out emphatic 5-0 winners in last month’s reverse encounter at Anfield, they are clear 3/10 (1.30) favourites with Paddy Power to extend that run with another victory here.

However, Carlos Carvalhal has only overseen one defeat in five matches since taking over from Paul Clement at the end of December, and is available at 10/1 (11.00) to mastermind a shock win in this one.

None of the last nine meetings between these sides have resulted in draws, but you can get odds of 9/2 (5.50) on them cancelling each other out in this one.

Team News

Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are in contention after recovering from a hamstring strain and illness respectively, although Jordan Henderson remains unlikely to feature.

The Swans have Kyle Naughton back from suspension and Mike Van Der Hoorn back from injury, but Tammy Abraham is still struggling with an abdominal strain.

Swans resistance

Despite the convincing 5-0 scoreline, Jurgen Klopp was keen to stress that their Boxing Day victory over then managerless Swansea was far more difficult than it appeared.

Although they took the lead within just six minutes thanks to Phillippe Coutinho’s final goal for the club, the home side were forced to wait until the 52nd minute to add a second before running riot against a tiring backline.

Looking rather more resilient under their new boss after conceding just five goals in five matches, Carvalhal’s men will fancy themselves to put up similar resistance in front of their own fans.

Tips and Predictions

All things considered, odds of 10/11 (1.91) look like excellent value on the majority of goals being scored after the break for Liverpool’s seventh consecutive game, as well as their eighth in nine against this opposition.

Highest-scoring half: Second at 10/11 (1.91) for a 2pt stake with Paddy Power
