Posta Rangers have confirmed the signing of Rwandan striker Jean Karekezi on a three-year deal.
While revealing the development to Goal, Chairman John Tonui expressed full confidence in the forward predicting that his team will be among the sharpest clubs in the league. “We have signed Karekezi (Jean) to play for us until the end of 2019 and I believe that he will be of great benefit to us during the period.”
Tonui added that the Rwandese will be in a ‘lethal’ combination with another top striker from Burundi in Ndayishimiye Dumu, who put pen to paper for a similar contract a day earlier. “You know we were looking for Timothy Otieno’s replacement and I thank God that we now have a double of what we wanted. Karekezi will play alongside Dumu, who is another good striker with us.”
Karekezi had had trials with Tanzanian giants Azam FC before landing the Posta Rangers’ job. He has also previously featured for Asec Mimosas Academy in Ivory Coast.
