Following their draw in Calabar, the Olukoya Boys’ handler has expressed displeasure at his side’s ability to hold on for victory

Fidelis Ilechuckwu has lamented MFM FC’s luck in away fixtures after his side could not hold on for another victory against Enyimba at the U.J Esuene Stadium on Saturday.

The Lagos side went ahead in the encounter through a Stephen Odey 24th minute strike but were again made to suffer for their ‘carelessness and loss of concentration’ after Mustapha Ibrahim acrobatic effort five minute from full time saw Ilechukwu’s side denied maximum points.

Placed third and five points adrift of top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League log, the Olukoya Boys despite coming close on several occasions have won just one (Sunshine Stars) of their six away fixtures.

“I’m very sad about the draw because my tactics did not work against Enyimba. We were supposed to wrap up the game. My boys could have held on and finish well,” Ilechukwu told Goal.

“I think it is carelessness and loss of concentration because the same thing happened in Katsina after 96 minutes we were supposed to wrap up the game and come back with one point and Katsina United scored in 97th minute.

“We really need to work on loss of concentration and carelessness because it is very important [to work on them] if our team really want to end at a reasonable position on the table. We must always start well and finish well,” he concluded.

MFM face another uphill task when they visit Wikki Tourist at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in a rescheduled topflight encounter on Wednesday.
