Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti will be questioned by the German Football Association (DFB) after admitting he made an unsavoury hand gesture towards a Hertha Berlin fan on Saturday.

The meeting between the two Bundesliga sides ended in controversial fashion when Robert Lewandowski equalised in the 96th minute, past the allotted stoppage time given.

A number of Hertha players surrounded the referee in protest against Lewandowski's strike, while supporters also fumed at Berlin's Olympiastadion.

And Ancelotti conceded after the match that he showed the middle finger to one fan in the midst of the melee, but the Italian claims he was “spat on”, hence why he used the gesture.

German source Kicker claims Ancelotti will now be questioned over his actions during the match, as well as Hertha goalkeeper Rune Jarstein.

Jarstein helped fuel the tempestuous end to the affair by blasting the ball in anger at Bayern's Xabi Alonso and therefore the DFB are also keen to speak with him.

Hertha were bidding to become only the second team to beat Bayern in the Bundesliga this season before Lewandowski's dramatic equaliser.
