AFC Cup 2017: ASEAN Zonal final - 2nd leg preview: Ceres Negros vs. Home United

Philippines' Ceres Negros have a tough task on their hands when they welcome Singapore's Home United for the second leg of the ASEAN Zone final on Wednesday.

In the first leg last week, Home United triumphed 2-1 on home soil thanks to goals from Stipe Plazibat and Hariss Harun, only for Martin Stueble to notch a vital away goal to give Ceres belief ahead of the second leg.

Ceres Negros have won three out of their four home games in the tournament so far and as such will be extremely confident of overturning the scoreline in the second leg. All they need to do is channel their win over Johor Darul Ta'zim in the semifinals when they managed to progress despite losing the first leg 3-2 away.

Home United, on the other hand, will have to keep Bienvenido Maranon on a tight leash as they fight to protect their one-goal advantage. We can expect Home United to play with caution but too much of it could backfire in the end, given Ceres' goalscoring record at home.

Interestingly, Home United have been impressive away in the tournament, after their opening day defeat against Myanmar's Yadanarbon. In the end, it all boils down to pressure and which team handles it better.
