The international break appears to have afforded the right-back the time he needed to recover, though, as he trained with his team-mates on Tuesday. </p>

<p>While Arne Slot has confirmed that Alexander-Arnold won't start in Wednesday's Champions League showdown with Real Madrid, his return is a welcome boost with Manchester City visiting Anfield on Sunday. </p>
