Things are nearing a crisis point after three consecutive defeats.If this run of form goes on, a breaking point could soon be reached.Chiefs are just seven points above the relegation zone and are far from the title challengers they want to be.

Worrying times

The Glamour Boys have chopped and changed their coaches over the last few years without getting any improvement.It’s probable that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/kaizer-chiefs-fans-want-a-benni-mccarthy-zwane-amakhosi-forwards-good-enough/blt02b34d8f9d67547a" target="_blank">Chiefs’ recruitment should be better</a>. But Amakhosi still have a decent enough squad and Zwane has not been doing a bad job. His selections appear to make sense and it’s often not been his tactics which have brought poor results, but rather individual errors - he's been let down a lot by his players.

Don’t blame the coach

This has been one of Chiefs’ biggest downfalls at the back over the past few seasons as there have been a series of careless and often needless goals given away. From <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/news/watch-khune-howler-hands-amazulu-3-0-half-time-lead-after-bimenyimana-misses-early-penalty/bltb35916a7b5b3532c" target="_blank">goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune</a> through to Zitha Kwinika, Edmilson Dove, Siyabonga Ngezana, Njabulo Ngcobo, Erick Mathoho and others, almost no one has avoided the curse.

Mistakes at the back

Whether it has been Keagan Dolly, Ashley du Preez, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, Kgaogelo Sekgota or Khama Billiat, the Chiefs forwards' tendency to miss chances has cost quite a few points this season.

Toothless up front

It’s time for the Amakhosi players to man up and be prepared to leave everything on the pitch in their quest to dig themselves out of a miserable run of form. Full-blooded effort and complete focus should be the minimum requirement; the players owe it to the coach, to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/kaizer-chiefs-fans-demand-mosimane-transfer-al-ahli-feats-franck-kom-next/bltc89434746087b047" target="_blank">the fans</a> and to the club, which looks after them well.

Fight for the badge

The Soweto side have a miserable record against Royal AM – they’ve lost three out of three, including a 4-1 reverse - since the Durban team bought Bloemfontein Celtic’s franchise a couple of years ago. That record will give Royal AM confidence and it promises to be a tough evening for the underfire Chiefs side if they don’t come out with the right attitude from the start.
