The attacker hinted that they are visiting the 2017 league champions with the aim of securing another positive result that will aid their determination to qualify for the season-ending playoffs.
The Promise Keepers are ahead of the chasing pack in the NPFL Group B on goal difference. They have 28 points from 15 games and next up is a tough league tie against Plateau United who are currently in the relegation zone.
Fernando who has two goals in the NPFL already disclosed that with the intense battle for the top three, they are aware that they must face Abdu Maikaba’s men with full concentration.
“The match against Plateau United will be interesting in many ways. It will be a tough battle because Plateau United are struggling to avoid relegation but we also have our target and we are fully prepared for this game,” Fernando told the club's media.
“Our mission in Jos this weekend is to pick all three points against Plateau United. I believe that it’s a good time for us to face them.
“Every match is very important for us now, irrespective of where we are playing. We started poorly but by the grace of God, we will finish strongly among the top three in our group.”
Fernando joined Akwa United from lower league side Akwa Starlets at the beginning of the season and he is among the 18 players that left for Jos on Friday.
