Wenger moans about Arsenal's Christmas schedule: Chelsea get one more day of rest!

Arsene Wenger has expressed his frustrations at Arsenal's busy festive fixture schedule, complaining that rivals Chelsea are getting an extra day of rest.

The Gunners face Antonio Conte's side in the Premier League on Wednesday, three days after their frustrating 1-1 draw at West Brom.

Conte's Blues, meanwhile, will get an extra day to recover compared to the north Londoners, with Chelsea having thumped Stoke City 5-0 on Saturday.

And Wenger, who has never been shy in discussing his grievances over the Premier League's hectic Christmas period, has once again made his feelings known.

Speaking after the draw with the Baggies that saw Jay Rodriguez net a controversial late equaliser from the penalty spot, Wenger told reporters: "Maybe we haven't played well enough but that's down to you to judge.

"These are two things. You cannot have... West Brom had five days to prepare for a game like that, we had three.

"I'm ready to play every day as long as our opponent has had the same time for recovery over Christmas. It's not normal.

"We have the same problem again against Chelsea. They played yesterday [Saturday], we play on Wednesday. They have one day more [rest] again.

Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and six behind Manchester United, who currently occupy third spot.
