Following their disappointing defeat in Markudi, the defender has said his side was hapless against the Pride of Benue

Gombe United 's Umar Zango says his side was unlucky after falling to a 1-0 defeat against Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium on Sunday.

After a 2-0 victory against  Ifeanyi Ubah , the Savannah Scorpions failed to maintain their form as they suffered their sixth defeat away from home crumbling to the Pride of Benue in a Week 12 encounter in Markudi.

And the former Kano Pillars player admitted his side was disappointed after failing to end their woeful form away from home but assures they will keep fighting.

"Since we started the league season we've not got a point away from home," Zango told Goal .

"It has been a difficult season for us and we have always played well in most of our games, especially those we drew at home but we have not been lucky because the goals were not forthcoming.

"We are happy we got a good home win against Ifeanyi Ubah, but we could not build on our winning confidence in Markudi.

"We knew playing Lobi Stars will be tough after seeing them go to Jos to pick a draw against Plateau United.
