The Anambra Warriors defender has tasked his teammates to ensure Ikon Allah Boys leave Nnewi without any point this weekend

FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s Wasiu Jimoh has asserted that the Anambra Warriors will add to the woes of Niger Tornadoes this weekend when they visit Nnewi for a league tie.

The Ikon Allah Boys’ were impressive in the later part of the first round and even went nine matches unbeaten by the start of the second round has not brought good tidings to the team due to their loss of some of their best players to other clubs in the top-flight.

They were beaten 3-0 by MFM in Lagos and were unable to go past Kwara United whom held them to a 1-1 draw in the last match and ahead of their Sunday’s fixture with the Anambra Warriors Jimoh has warned Hamza Abara’s men to expect another tough encounter.

“We are grateful to God for our performances in the last few matches where we have beaten our opponents at home and picked away points too,” Jimoh told Goal.

“The result we got against Enyimba and Yobe Desert Stars have put us in a good position and I believe that Tornadoes are afraid of us. We must show them that we are prepared for them and we can’t afford to spare them knowing that they are not doing well presently.

“We believe that with another home win, we shall move further up in the league table. We have worked very well in recent times and we deserve to be rewarded with another win based on the hard work that we have put into the recent matches.”

The former Shooting Stars striker, however, implores his teammates not to be carried away by their recent form ahead of the game while highlighting that Tornadoes could still hurt them if they are complacent.

“We still have to play with all that we have got knowing that Tornadoes are still a good side and that they will be looking for ways to stop their unimpressive results of the last two games,” he added.

“We must not disrespect them knowing that they can surprise us. We have to prepare very hard for them while hoping for a favourable result at the end of the 90 minutes.”
